Here is the link for what info is available for the mechanics.

http://v-eastonline.com/ScaleJetmain.htm

Your best bet is to talk directly to Sandy, he give you all the information. I also have been hearing to rumor of a little brother to this monster. I know the process to introduce a production fuse can be time consuming but I am positive the wait will be worth every second.

I had nyampdude over last evening looking things over to build some bricks. Looks like we will be in the 6lbs range for batts. There plenty of room to place the batteries forward to help out with CG.

The Horror, the horror,

Had some days to work on my Scale Jet and wouldn't you know it, there were 3 perfect days to do some flying. What is up wit dat.

But all is not lost, I mean, I am lost but there is hope. The shock treatments are working by the way.

I worked on the tail drive train this weekend. I am using a flex drive 5mm cable. Sandy recommended to install the tail control servo on a small bulk head all the way in the back of the fuse instead of running bell-cranks and long rods from the aft side of the mechanics all the way back to the tail. I thought that was a great idea so I did it. It's offset just a touch for alignment as you can see in the pictures

I have all the pieces fit and the flex is aligned perfect with the TGB. Now I just have to grow a set to bond it all together. Once the glue hits this there is no turning back.

Great pics Butch. Gotta love the German engineering of this stuff and you are building it like the master crafter we know you are. I have the T/R servo remoted at the top of my IndyHeli Apache vertical fin and gotta say it's the only way to go with a 7' model. You got a good input from Sandy on this one. It works a world better with four feet of servo wire and links less than 2" long than the other way around.

Did the anchor hardware come with the flex drive or did you get those slick clamps from SDP-SI?

So you like those little clamps do ya,

Actually, I made them. I made them on the best $800 dollar investment I have ever made in this hobby, well there was that one time at Band Camp, OH SNAP, wrong forum.

A couple of years ago I bought a table top lathe and end mill. Got both for 800 bucks, spank-in new, covered in gooo from Cummins Tool. They are China made and required some tweaking but have more than paid for themselves I feel many times.

I would have liked to mount the servo next to the TGB but there is just not enough room. The control rod will be about 8 inches long from the servo to the bell-crank.

You have unlocked the door with the key of imagination, beyond it, another dimension, a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. Your moving into a land of both shadow and substance of things and ideas,

You have just crossed over into...

"The Glue Zone"

ITS OFFICAL...I AM NOT RIGHT.

Did the last major Glue Job tonight.

The primer. Fill glass 3/4 with ice cover with Jameson splash of Ginger Ale for color.X2

My Gun,

And back up,

Tools of the trade,

Mission complete,

Thanks Rick,

I saw one of yours at Keystone Tuesday. We were over there getting HEED's bottle brackets installed.

Gear.

All the linkage is installed and working. I powered each gear individually and it all good. Once I get it all wired together I will post a vid.

My Scale Jet 76 is moving along.

Received the 8717 for the tail, NIP from a fellow RR user, thanks for the great deal. I hope to get the bulkhead bonded in later today. I will use a "choke" on this servo. The servo may be about 4 1/2 feet from the RX depending on where I mount the remaining radio gear. I am thinking under the forward section of the race car but we will see. The speed control and batteries hopefully will be about the only thing in the cabin area.

The last photo shows the tail rotor control linkage. I have a little thinking to do here, in how to attach the slider to the bell-crank. I would like to move the bell-crank to keep it inside the TGB fairing for a little cleaner install. In doing so you can see my dilemma.

Any thoughts?

Installed a set of blades on the tail. All of a sudden, this thing got really big.

The tail drive flex cable is complete too.

There comes a point in a build where you have to do something you just hate doing. For me, that task would be fitting the cowls. This is the most difficult part of the build in my eyes. For some reason, I just can't "see" it. They never seem to fit the same twice consistently, they just kind of slither around like an amoeba re-forming itself at every touch.

The Scale Jet cowls do fit very well but still...

Sissy, I would be referring to me. That was not near as bad as I made it, in my little mind.

I have to still do a little tweaking here and there but nothing major. Next will be the tail fairings then the doors.

Some pics,

This thing gets bigger with every part.

Love the way that "mean eyed" Raptor on the shelf is giving the S-76 the evil stare and is green with envy too.
