very arousing!!!
boy that 12x must be some radio. if it gives you the capability to do that for landing gear mixing, sequencing and timing, then theres no doubt i must have one!!!!!
nice work Butch!!

Emile,

I am not so sure I like being the one giving you a "very arousing" thought. I mean I like you are all but...

I am sure all the upper end radios are capable of this kind of mixing. I find the JR radios just easier for my simple mind to understand. We speak the same gibber-jabber I guess.

Doing it this way does eat up a lot of channels, but as I mentioned, less stuff. I have one empty slot left in the 1222RX for lighting which I hope to have soon, maybe even this week.

All the parts are coming together slow but sure.

oh were you in the vid Butch??
the gear stuff man, the gear stuff
you cant beat the jr radios in my oppinion. i still fly my original pcm 10 now on 2.4g. i bought it in 1991 and it still has more stuff than i can find use for, and it flies my airwolf, seaking, and many more. it speaks my language too.

Hey Emile:

I don't know about arousing either but the 12x is certainly the Bee's Knee's I would not trade my 12x for anything out there and I am sure Butch would agree!! Sorry to hear about your SeaKing. How are the repairs coming?

Butch, your bird gets cooler and cooler. Nasty weather has again stopped work on my Cheyenne, but it is supposed to clear up soon! I am very close to detailing the plug now with all the stuff , then I can move on to the molds.

Richard

Is it just me, I thought all Helicopters flew in 3D......Hmmmm?

Emile,

I know the gear stuff. hehe

You are 'The Gear Whisperer"

I installed the drag braces. They just kind of hang out and go along for the ride but are a very nice added touch for sure.

I used an elastic band for now to support the drag braces and kind of pull them up and out of the way when the gear is retracted. I have to take some measurements and will replace the band with small springs.

Butch,

Ill have to snap a shot of the spring setup in mine. It's a single spring that snakes from one brace through a loop on the rear bulkhead and over to the other brace. This isn't rocket science, but you might want to see another way of doing it.

It may be the only thing HeliFactory got right. : )

MK,

That would be great. I did see the prototype along time ago but I have slept sense then so I will have to go in for retraining.

OK, lets talk,

Sitting at work today. Just about ready to go home when my phone rings. It was "Boob-o-luscious" from upstairs letting me know I have 2 packages, one from Germany and a small box as well.

I knew what was in the small box, The Custom Lighting System for my Scale Jet 76 from Electrodynamics. The ED system is a 100% correct light sequencing, custom system. The large box has about 8000mm of main rotor blades. Well its like frickin Christmas Time in NY today. I do have a real frickin attitude with it being dark "AT 4 FRICKIN THIRTY in the afternoon" WTF!!!

I will be giving the new blades a shot this weekend.

Here is a little video of the blades all laid out on the bench, (OH and one blade is almost as long as my R-50 with the 530 fuse,) the light from ED just taped to the side of the fuse for effect.

Looks pretty cool.

Thanks guys,

It does look pretty awesome with all the lights flashing if I don't say so myself.

The new blades, Well they are just stunning. I am not sure of any other way to put it.

These were the last big pieces for this project. I am way behind where I had hoped to be at this time but this thing looks really promising. The only hard part will be if I am able to do it justice.

Looks awesome. You could throw a few more lights on there and use it for a x-mas tree.

Na,

The second set of blades are for "Unitha" who is also building a Scale Jet 76.

I am going to be in FL over Christmas and I always bring a 500 with me.

Hello Everyone! this is my first post on this thread. I had the pleasure to see this bird in person today AND see it fly. It is one unbelievable machine! Gratz to the master builder for sure!

Thanks for the comment, Nice to meet you, and Welcome to our little field.

Making the few patterns yesterday, it felt better with each pass. Not really knowing how it was going to react once out of a hover, is always a little touchy for me. I was pleased to find it felt great, and after about the third circuit I started to fell a little better with how it flies and handles. Very predictable. As I mentioned, I am not using any devices on the main rotor to help stabilize, or help fly, this helicopter. It's all the machine and the pilot. I felt as though I really had to hold this thing back. It wants to fly. I have never flown such a large and heavy helicopter. Right now, the heli tips the scales at 33lbs. I added 3lbs of weighted forward to roughly simulate the finish weight of the cockpit.

I know it's late in the season but I will be building flight time from here on out that's for sure.

Rain Rain go away, The new Mantra of the Eastern Sea Board. I think it has rained for 3 day straight. Not to lessen the issues of our friend on the Gulf Coast. Dude, I saw a pic of a flying field, I think in Bama, where the club house was the loan feature in a sea of WATER...That is SO wrong in SO many ways...
