It is sick. The fun part will be trying to replicate them.

I bonded in the majors over the weekend. I clamped all the structure in place and tacked it in several places then used the BVM Aeropoxy with those cool little swirly tips.

Some pics

Butch - I am interested in your opinion on the subject of adhesive selection for bonding plywood parts to the interior of a fiberglass/ carbon fiber fuselage. I have read that Peter Wales recommends PFM (available from HobbyLobby)and comments that it has advantages of shock/vibration isolation and ease of removal if repairs become necessary in that you can remove the ply piece by slicing though the PFM bond with a razor.

I know that the BVM system is a proven performer also and I think you likely used it in your USMC Super Cobra that now proudly sits in my hangar. I have another scale project and am trying to decide which way to go. Input from all with experience with these products is invited and welcome.

Cheers - Boyd

As I mentioned in a previous post, I modified the main stringers to install a cockpit floor. I fit the floor and made some small ribs to support the aft side of the floor. I also fit the STA 300 bulk head. Rick knows where that one is. There will be a bulkhead that separates the cockpit from the cabin as the VIP 76 do, This is why the floor stops just aft of the door jamb.

Fit the main gear servo decks and servos for the retracts. Also fit the aft bulkhead. The small blocks are just to hold it in place for fit. Trying to work towards the next glue session where the rest of the main structure will be bonded to the fuse.

What do you guys think of this color?

Yeh,

I know it too dark. I may have to think about this one. For DOC's, its the best. I will become very intimate with this heli for many years to come.

Thanks Kevin

I like the idea of PFM glue, its pretty strong. I still prefer the BVM glues. I really like the new BVM V-poxy .

I have yet to try the PFM. I will at some point though. I chose the BVM Areopoxy because there are several places where the long mixing tips make the job so simple and clean. Once I got the bead right there was little or no clean-up.

The only S76 original paint job in my opinion would the one with
the lady along the length of the fuselage ... you must remember
that one !

Question for S76 fans, was this paint scheme only done on a poster/publicity or was there ever a full size machine painted like that ?

Yes I do remember that poster. I do not recall it ever being painted on an actual bird though. There was one painter like the Grand Canyon for an Air Wolf episode, HXM-1 I think.

I believe I have one of those posters around here some where. I will have to look around.

Reese did the paint. It has steps but were not installed for the flight from the paint shop to POK. CC is working the interior. I know the steps can be a PIA. I hope these are a set of the good ones.
