Thanks for the welcome!I flew last weekend and again on Friday (RDO) On Friday there was no wind. Thats the first time since I started. Made such a difference. I stayed at a steady height and I didn't drift to the side. I was pretty impressed with myself!
Ldyrtr, hows the repairs going? Were the servos Ok?

Also New

Hey gals,
I'm a newby and have been practicing on the sim and have a Blade MCX which is pretty easy to maneuver. I was wondering what the best advice is for preparing to go nitro? I have a Raptor30 waiting for me to fly but I'm a little intimidated. Anything you can let me in on would help immensely!

just go for it the 30nitro are so much more stable to hover N u dont need to be quick on the sticks, well as much as u do on the smaller helis. dont be intimidated, its only a machine that can be repaired when crashed

N we all crash, some worse then others, but we all have crashed or have crashed and well keep on crashing. nothing a couple parts and some new blades wont fix

I am learning on a nitro 30, don't be intimidated, I love my heli. My OH told me not to go to electric til I can hover confidently, as they are that much quicker. Have fun!

Before you detail the crash detail the first flight! Think positive! I flew at my first fun fly today, didn't go so well, not enough sleep and so the brain and thumbs weren't connected. Oh well, there's always next weekend. I'm determined to get on the sim every night this week, that should help...........

I am new to the site and am learning to fly helicopters. I fly on the simulator only right now. My hubby keeps wanting me to fly HIS helicopters, "are you kidding me?" Im not going to crash his helicopters despite what he says about not being mad if I do. My question is this to fellow lady flyers and guy flyers as well, How in the world do you get the nerve to fly the real thing????

I know what you mean about flying his heli, I'm glad I have my own, then if I crash it's only me I have to worry about. As for flying the real thing, do it just once and you will see. Seriously addictive stuff!

Well done,Tazwife! I'm glad that it felt good. I'm sure you'll find the raptor feels better. I didn't fly this weekend - hayfever brain! At least I have the sim - the state of my brain doesn't matter then.

Thanks for the welcome and the encouragement on my new flying. My first heli will be an ergo30, old but will serve the purpose for me to hover. It is almost ready for me to hover. I will have hubby take pics when I have in the air.

It takes alot of nerve to get that heli off the ground the first time! You should be very proud of yourself!

Are you using any training gear? I used a larger set of training gear build for a 600. It gave me alot of added confidence to land the bird without fear of tipping it over.

Well today I actually got my Ergo30 in the air, it was a little rough, no crashes just the nervous feeling, if I can overcome the nervous feeling, I think it will be fine...It felt good tho.

Heli pilots can do it backwards
