Ok, this thing caught my eye initially because the skids are on backwards. I looked closer expecting to find a real POS. On second glance, it doesn't look too bad! It's like a T-rex 500 with and innovative body and weird motor placement.

Something different, anyway.

Throw away the canopy and it looks pretty good. They could have at least put it together right for the press photo.

I Think it looks like a pretty well laid out heli. (except for the backward skids, cheezy) All CNC components with CF frames make it an attractive purchase. Price is nice too.

The blades are backwards, too. Apparently someone tried to follow the Chinglish instructions to the letter.

I am considering to end my attempts to rebuild (again) my Swift and replace it with the HK500 using its parts. However, I read a posting that T-Rex 500 parts do not fit the HK500. Is this correct?

PS* We are aware that the photographer assembled the skids backwards.

I've been had HK450.
HK said it is clone of T-REX 450(meaning 450S ver.).
But their parts are not completely compatable.

They are slightly different.
For example, the position of bolt holes, parts sizes and so on.

SO...

I think HK-T500's parts are may not be correctly compatable.

Good luck.

Everything can be fly / I believe I can fly.

No offense but the blades look right to me.

Ok, this thing caught my eye initially because the skids are on backwards.

The skids are one piece so it's impossible for them to be backwards unless the tips curl up in the back

This thing is prolly junk but it is cheap.
As far as I can see though,it's assembled correctly if we are looking at the same photo.

Those are two different helicopters. The one from earlier (check post dates)wasn't very interesting. The recent T-rex 500 clone is very interesting.

The original photo on the HC site showed a 500 heli with backward blades and skids, and was actually pretty funny. Of course, that was a year or two ago and nothing stays the same.

The heli in the original post is nothing like the T500, or the clone for that matter.

It is interesting huh.
Of course the blade grips would have to go at the very least but as soon as I get all caught up on my Trex 600(which seems impossible)I plan to build one and try it out.

its ok

Hi.

I have one and it flyes really nice. I'm not a 3D pilot so I don't know if mechanics are ok for that, but for sport flights its perfect. Cheap and good materials for the price. I'm happy with it and for beginners on 500 class heli its perfect. I already bought 2 more just for spare parts ( not to many spares in stock ).

I agree that more expensive helis fly much better and pieces are more durable and better materials. But in my case this heli is perfect for what I really need right now. In the future if I feel comfortable with this size heli and I have enough money, then I'll buy a better one

I also bought 3 HK450 ( bulk buy ) to start getting into soft 3D.
It's also super cheap and it also flyes nice. Beeing so cheap I can risk more on flights and start to fly something more than FF flights

Since I bought 3 HK450s, and have been flying one so far, I imagine this is a great heli also, my hk450 is super stable and flies great!!

Its very interesting, Il be paying close attention to see how these helis go, specially the newer gt version.
I just bought one of the older hk 500`s, unfortunately I will be useing my Align head on it and a few other Align parts that survived my most recent crash, so I wont be able to give my opinion on how good it is, I just hope the main gear is well shaped as thats the only real moveing part I will be useing other than the tail output shaft.
