My Posts This: Topic  Forum		This may seem like a dunb question but fairly new with electrics. Always had the sirius for nitros where its plug and play. I was told I could charge my NiMh birdseed battery with my Sirius charger using the Tx side. However when I do the battery gets really hot. So I bought a Triton charger where I could control the current. What is a good current to charge it at. I tried using the auto but it always selects 0.1 amp. This would take forever.

NiMH cells will get warm to hot while fast charging. They can handle a fair amoutn of heat also. The cells are exothermic in charge meaning they give off heat as they charge whereas nicads are endothermic and actually cool a bit when they start to charge - only when they peak do they heat.

I would do a slow charge then a few cycles at .7A then after a few cycles go up to 1A and see how they respond. They will get pretty warm but they will actually perform better in flight when warm.
