Buying new Heli-baby from .DE

Hi,

I'm going to buy a new re-manufactured Helibaby from wwwheli-baby.de. I see that they have had made the old Webra Speed 40 at a cost of £135. Do I need this motor for the best result, or would an up to date silver motor be a better bet? Say an OS 46 AX at a cost of only £75?

I don't mind buying the Webra if it's the best engine for the job, but I can't help thinking a modern OS would be easier to tune and keep running, maybe??

I will be buying the Zimmermann though!!

Thanks for your help.

Rob.

Based on my personal experience, you will be really happy with your purchase.

I put an OPS 40 RCA in mine, and it flies really well. You really need to decide if you want to stay "authentic" or not. If not, any .40 or similar size engine should work -- keep in mind some basic dimensions that are important; Gerd (at Heli-baby.de) will help ensure you get an engine that fits.

Keep in mind, with a FP heli, the ability to increase rotor speed depends entirely on the engines ability to rev up - a direct function of the power ratio of the engine (and many other factors).

Post any questions you may have during the build. Gerd will also be a tremendous resource if required (although the kit is so good, that additional assistance should not be required).

Best wishes with you pending purchase!

Thanks for that Tutelar-rc.

I think I'll play safe and buy the engine that has been made for it by Heli-baby.de

I'm very much looking forward to this, it will be one fun ride

I've got about 5 'Action Men' watching on Ebay already .

Wow !! a call from Germany to the UK today after I placed my order for a Heli-baby last night! Now that's what I call service !!

I've decided to go with the OS 46 AX and I'm looking for a Hirobo Secadu Evo 50 exhaust. I think the nasty cast Evo exhaust will be in keeping with what may well have been bolted onto these models back in the day. The Secadu Evo 50 exhaust looks very much like a standard plank exhaust, only it bolts on horizontal.

I've got a stack of 12% fuel that I will try, but here 30% is as cheap as other fuel!! So I may try some of my 'standard' 30% fuel. I should be able to run the engine much richer, this will keep the engine very cool and smooth off the power curve, I think??

Anyway, looking forward to it

Rob.

P.S, I've bought my Action man !!

Alright Rob
Action Man is not REALLY building it, is he??? He must be too busy giving his sexy wife one to be bothered with toys!
Who IS building it?? C'mon, it's YOu isn't it? Hey, Hey?
Liking this a lot, why don't you try motion capture and post a film of him building it, then even I will believe
