Lovely set of coloured blades on the heli!

There's a longer version of that vid somewhere. The heli pilot gathers his/her senses, then hover taxys down the same route as the Cessna, lands near the plank and the clubhouse???, someone gets out of the heli and goes in the building - obviously to have a rant at the plank driver.

Damned fine piloting to avoid a collision. It looked great on video!

HOWEVER!! Playing devil's advocate....Did the heli have permission to proceed onto that taxyway in front of the Cessna? Or was it a case of, I reckon I can beat him....oh 5h1t !!

Tach.

Not sure if any of you guys saw this on the news a month or so ago - what an idiot.

Of course this gave anyone who has an R/C plane a bad name.

FYI, the park where this R/C plane took off is only 1 km from the end of the runway that the jet was landing at.

Seems a little one-sided...

When is someone going to post what seems to be a never-ending supply of dumb@ass things that you see heli-pilots do every weekend at a field near you?

Wait, that would spoil your superior than the "planker" reality....my bad....

Well Dur, look at the thread title!Since when is it compulsory for even-handed posts? This is not public broadcasting you know.

So tell me "The Dave" do you fly a plank? Why are you reading this thread if you are so sensitive to a bit of fun at the expense of plankers? Your reaction is more likely to generate more posts rather than less so we can all see how it upsets over-sensitive people.

Thanks for the back up Tony!

For everyone's info, I fly a plank too - be it a foamy. I just generated this thread as all the others were to do with heli safety and accidents.

Thanks!!! I needed a good laugh, I also enjoy watching a good heli crash.

I crashed twice this weekend, one observor came to me and said they didn't want to offend me, but the crashes were cooler than the flights. Up until monday I had only had 1 crash in the last 6 years, I made up for it though...I must admit, it was pretty neat, Just wish it wasn't mine.
