Are you saying the gear is warped or moving it up and down with your finger?

no its not warped but imagine if it was warped the way one side would move up and one down thats the way i have play like grab the heli with one hand and put pointer finger on the left side of the gear on the left side of the heli and put your thumb on the right side of the heli on the right side of the gear and wiggle it up and down like it would if it was warped i have signifigant play here but not on the actual shaft any comments ? i dont know all the caracteristics of the shogun i am wondering if this is one of them

All of mine will do that. If you notice on the top side of the gear it will rub on the frame and create white dust from the gears, To the front of the frame I'll file down the frame on both sides so the gear will clear the frame, on the back side I leave the frame as is on both sider, This keeps the main gear level for the pinion gear.

good idea i was thinking about some sanding but didint want to add to the problem but yes leaving the rear slots would keep the gear relatively straghit and sanding the front would eliminate some friction

I've replaced the main gear 4 times and all of them have the same movement you described. Doesn't seem to effect anything after they "wear" in. almost seems as though the hole for the one way bearing is not drilled perpendicular to the gear. Glad to hear shoguns are still in the air.

Huh?
