Seaviper, bare in mind that Dr Tim never uses instructions when building. Funny as heck to watch him figure it out on his own.
He's usually changing something for the better too.
Favorite comment "Why the he!! did they do it that way, That's Stupid"!

They are cooling holes as well they lighten the model up a bit. Just leave those 2 punched out pieces in your scrap drawer.

Looking good so far!

Just too clean

DUDE!!!

I doing an Apache and just throwing it together. Slow down, make some mistakes, take a few gouges out of the balsa (all things I have done). Its way to neat and clean. If you don't start messing up I gonna stop reading your tread in protest.

Skater007...I have an eApache on order. Do you have a build thread? I'd like to see pictures. BTW, I have dinged, crushed, and snapped my share of wood parts

This is the work from last night. Hopefully I will have more from tonight.

I think you forgot to put the belt in before putting the outside pieces on .... Go back a step in the manual and have a look.

Looks like it's in there already, just hanging out the other way so as to not be in the way while putting it together.

Dr. Tim, Does Starwood have plenty of the Cobra kits in stock?

There's a belt ?

The belt is in there. It was just pulled tight and taped to stay out of the way.

Had to drill out the center of the bellcrank with a 0.128 (#30) drill bit in order to get a smooth no-play movement.

Welcome lextek

Work on the ship has been slow the last few days due to my day job.
I did, however, manage to mount the tail unit last night. Strong clamps are in order for this as one side of the fuse tends to bend a little more than the other.

Also, the red pushrod included in the kit is nice. But, mine was bent enough that I could not get it to operate smoothly. I will be using a Sullivan Gold N Rod for the TR pushrod. I may use a carbon rod or 4-40 threaded rod from the bellcrank to the TR itself.

I will need to make a functional stinger before I close up the backend as well.

Hooked up 1/2 of the rudder pushrod.
Tested fit of the fins before sanding.

The filler blocks in the photo are not glued. Just stacked up to check edges.
