Ok i Really need some help. I have a falcon 400 3d which is just like a Zoom or Shogon. I cant get it to stop shaking. It shakes it self apart around 60 percent throttle. lets take the blades out of the problem cause it shakes just the same without them. looks to me like most of the vibrations are around the main gear, top of frame and head. It seems to be vibrating on a horizontal plain left and right I have changed the main shaft, it is and was straight, the spindle shaft was bent so i put in a new straight one. The swash plate stays vary flat. i replaced the fly bar and made sure it was vary straight when i put in the new one. The fly bar is in exact distance on each side and is balanced with CG at the center of head. both paddles are flat at 0 degrees There is no play in the head bearings with the spindle shaft, everything in there is in good cond. I see some things of concern, like the main gear wobbles alot. I have tryed everything to stop it, like adjusting all of the parts on the main shaft that are near or touching the gear. I have tryed two different moters. Was going to replace the main gear but I couldnt get the one way baring out of it and i dont see them for sell with the bearing already installed (think maybe you use a press but i dont have one). If I take the head off and spin it up, the top of the main shaf vibrats a little but not much (vary small hard to even tell). And the main gear wobles maybe around +or- 1.5mm ,2mm (Thats on the outside edge of gear). Thats all I can think of right now. Please help I have been trying to fix this for three hours a day for two weeks now. And im about ready to throw this "satan copper" out the window going 80 on the freeway. Thanks.

You can use the Align one-way bearing removal tool $4.20 or use sockets, if you have them. I would start with new main bearings, auto rotation sleeve, one-way bearing and a new main gear(your gear may be warped). I think your vibration is coming from bad main bearings.

yha i agree

bad gear meshing will cause vibration i would replace evry thing helli770 said you can check the frame bearings but i would just get a new antirotation with a new main gear when you press a new antirotation bearing in a new main gear it should go in good and tight and you should hear a click is your pinion nice and new on your motor ? does the pinion look like its nice and vertical if you have a shoty pinion i would get a nice new one to go with the new main gear

Tripp,

How's this going? Did you get your new parts yet? We're curious to see if this fixes it. Once you replace the main gear, bearings and one-way you've completely ruled out the main rotor system. Next step is to look at the tail rotor system. It's surprising what vibration from the tail can do to the whole airframe. I usually dynamically balance the tail. If it comes to that let us know and someone will help you get that worked out too. Good luck, and you will lick this problem! It's a shame the Shogun is yesterday's news, because I still love mine. It's the one bird I can always go back to and know that it will just work.

I changed the main gear and oneway bearing and sleave. That got rid of most of the vibrations, there is still some but it is pretty close to normal vibration. so thatks for every thing everyone. the chopper has a problume with the ciclic servos ( it wont fly flat, and evevator servo centers vary slowly). I think its cause the servos are so cheap, only six dollers.
So i have decided to put out the big bucks and build a trex 450 with all the good stuff like gy401, s9257, hitech 65mgs and a nice futaba 7C fasst 2.gh radio. I will go back to my 400 size heli when i am not so angry at it.
lots of hours building ahead for me. wish me luck.
