just a note, it took me 7 minutes to drop the engine assembly out of this heli

take out
fan screws - 4
engine cradle screws - 8
landing gear screws - 4
disconnected fuel/muffler lines - 2
disconnected SwitchGlo harness

dropped complete out the bottom including muffler.

that's using a Metabo PowerMax with MIP/Thorpe hex drivers, but still.. fast, easy.

Just checking clutch engagement and how things are wearing in. Looks good so far

It is going to be allot of fun to have to air frames: one with a flybar, and the other flybarless. Swapping electronics and engine looks to be very quick with minimal work to do at the field quickly. And that sleek canopy!... you KNOW it's got to piro flip awesome. Can't wait.

Sam,

are you getting one of these models?

btw, i'm changing over to a new YS 50ST. My OS50 developed a bad rear bearing causing a hig frequency vibration.. new bearings are on the way.. maybe this motor will go in Aeolus #2 when I can afford a second kit

It's the GF version. It was the only one available until the end of the month and I didn't want to wait.

I'll be getting the GF version when I can get mine. I like the simplicity/durability of a belt drive and as long as the frame design in good, the GF frames should be up to the task. I may order a set of extra carbon frames to swap out and see if there is a real noticeable difference between the two on that airframe. I'll definitely be documenting my build and getting videos on it and looking forward to it.

Looks sweet, I just want to modify the black windscreen shape, always been a fan of a larger windscreen on canopies.

I would prefer a different windshield contour as well.
