Ok Folks,

I am in need of some help here. I am willing to build a heli on here but I am going to need some help.

I will be bulding this heli stock per instruction manual. This is my first time even building or flying a helicopter and it just looks to interesting so I just had to get one.

The fist step in the instruction manual says prepare the main rotor blades. Now, in the instruction manual it is for wood blades. I will be using carbons, do they just screw into the flybar assembly?

Also, step two says mounting the engine. Now, I have read a lot of articles with guys saying that the Thread Piston Lock Tool is not worth using due to damaging parts of the engine. I was told to use the crank lock tool for better results without damaging anything. Do you folks no where I can get one of the or will the 30-90 size one work from Heliporz.

Thanks for your help folks and I look forward to learning a lot on here from other people.

You are correct. The carbon blades do not "need" any prep before mounting to the heli.
BUT, as a rule I always check the balance of anything that spins, It is very rare to find a new set of carbon blades out of balance, but I still check.

The piston lock tool has been known to punch holes in the top of a piston, or just leave a dent or crack causing piston failure later on.
The RVO1007 tool from HeliProz should be safe to use.

Any other questions, just ask.
