Hi everybody,

I would like to know if someone has already mounted a spartan gyro on his heli?
In fact I am interested to find a spartan's folder with all parameters to help me for setting.

One of my friend would like to put a spartan gyro on an Avro for 3D Routine and I would like to help him. Our aim is to avoid too many tests with PC on field , I will be happy if someone could help me.

Thanks for your help and advice

Im running a 760 on my Avro. I just finished break in, so no real 3d as of yet. I would be surprised if I make any changes from default, other than ATV's.
Im running 35% and so far, tail holds well, no hunting etc.
The Spartan "manaul" does not list any internal default settings, what you see on the PC screen is it.

take care, dont step on the toes today that may be connected to the a?? you have to kiss tomorrow!!

Hi,

On my Avro I replaced GY611+bls251 with Spartan, the servo is same BLS251.
My opinion is - Spartan works better than GY611.
I'm running about 42% and all gyro's settings are by default, except ATV.
For mounting used default sticker and two zip ties.
It works very very good ... just perfect.

I have a question regarding mounting a Spartan DS-760 on the supplied Avro mount.

Have you all used the "foam pad/steel plate/foam pad" as called out in the Spartan manual below the Spartan for your installation? I would tend to believe that this gyro could be just stuck to the gyro mount with one layer of double stick mounting tape given the isolation mount on the Avro. Yes/No?.

Pro's - Con's - Observations?

I'd like to know.

I agree that staying with the recommendation from Spartan to use the "foam pad/steel plate/foam pad" method would be the case in most all other nitro heli's.

However, I've directed my question to find out if the "isolation" gyro mount that is marketed so well in the specifications for the Avro works as advertised.

In the specifications on the web site, it states "The Avro's unique fully-dampened gyro mount allows the gyro to be hard mounted and retained, using a velcro strap or rubber bands for total security."

So I ask, if the mount can dampen vibrations, then is it necessary to go all out and use layers upon layers of foam mounting tape and metal only to run the possibility of inducing actual movement of the gyro on top of all that stuff?

This is the Spartan method applied to my T-Rex600NSP

I'd contact both Spartan & Blitz directly for their recommendation. They're all British, and I'm sure they talk to each other!

Thanks for the suggestion...

However, I'm looking for experiences from Avro owners who've installed the Spartan and if they followed Spartan's instructions or went on their own and installed with less "padding" under the gyro because of the isolation mount.

I have been running a Spartan hard mounted to the gyro plate on my Avro since I built it - no issues whatsoever; it's perfect. No need for extra dampening.

Thanks Edward R,

Sounds like that's the way I'll go as well. I figure I'll just use one layer of double stick mounting tape (not the foam stuff) and go with that.
