I am just doing the final setup on my Avro prior to its maiden flight tomorrow and I noticed that when I input up collective (positive pitch) I am getting negative pitch.

I have setup the Avro as per all the stable flight options including trailing link control on the main blade grips.

I setup up my reversing switch to get the right direction of movement on the swash plate which included the swash plate moving up when I input up collective with -60% pitch on the swash mix setting (JR 12x radio).

However this gives me negative blade pitch as I bring collective up and positive when I bring it down.

My only option is to change the -60% pitch in the swash mix setting to +60% which then means the swash plate goes down when I input up collective and up when I input down collective. This also gives me positive pitch when I input up collective and negative pitch when I input down collective.

I have never setup a helicopter where the swash plate moves up for negative pitch and down for positive. Is this normal on the Avro or have I done something wrong that I am missing?

Thanks for any help / clarification on this

David

Judging by another post I just found I guess the swash plate moving in the opposite direction from norm is correct.

It all depends on the position of the linkages. I've seen on other helis like the Align series when you flip the blade grips upside down, the wash out arms must be reversed causing the swash to move up for negative pitch and down for positive pitch. It's not an issue; it still works the same. The swash mix simply is reversed.

Daco

your swash is moving correctly,

My Raptor 90 quick uk head also moves the same as the Avro, it does look weird at first, but you do get used to it..

Enjoy the Avro it is a great machine

I'll second that. With leading-edge blade grips the swash goes down for +ve collective on the R90.

Good thing you spotted it - you could've had one hell of a time taking off!
