Hi Guys
I was wondering if someone could help me out on this
Today I started a Concept 46 VR for the First time Ever and I almost Crapped my Pant when it Came alive at "Full Bore"
the Servo Needed to be Reversed on the Tx and the Carb was wide open
"Holey $hit" I didn't know this was going to happen
Me being New to nitro's, it took me a Few seconds to figure out what to do, Like an idiot I held the Blade in Place until I finally Pulled the Fuel Line to the carb
Too late though the Clutch Burned up like a Mother F ^%(*(^%*^%*%$
It scared the Crap out of me to say the Least, I've seen the Raptor .50 on You Tube Blow up when the guy didn't have the Pitch right and he kept on Reving it until it Exploded, and the Heli was gone, so I guess I'm Luckey it didn't explode in my face
the Clutch is Toast, But I didn't loose the Heli.

any way I'm going to try and Start the Stinger .50 Heli in the Morning and I would like to know what the Position of the Throttle is supposed to be, Twords the Front or Twords the Back for Starting the Heli
Hopefully I won't go through what Just Happened to me today
Will someone PLEASE HELP me out
Thanks

Front or back depends on just how you hooked up your linkages.
If you look at the throttle arm on an OS 50 engine from the side with the arm, rotated clockwise closes the throttle.
If you have to reverse the servo you also need to go back and check the servo endpoints and recalibrate your Gov.

You can also tell the difference in sound while turning over the engine with the starter and NO power to the glow plug. It will be noticeably louder at full throttle.

You did the correct thing with the hot start by holding the head till you could pull the fuel line.
Pulling the fuel line will always shut down the engine in a couple of seconds. If you know immediately that you are in idle up or the stick is up, you can always fix that if the TX is close enough, but the fuel line always works. The clutch will almost always be toast after a hot start on any heli.
ALWAYS have a death grip on the head while starting or anywhere near any heli with the engine running. A clutch is cheap compared to a trip to the ER.

I agree clockwise should close the carb on an OS50 when you are looking at it from the throttle linkage side.

P.S. You are not the first one to do that. And don't worry you'll get quicker at pulling the fuel line off when that happens.

You guys are the Man

I knew I had Dumb Thumbs
But Son of a B*%^(*^% I hope to never let this Happen again
I've Picked up 8 Nitro Helicopters since Jan. and I guess I'm lucky that the One this Happened to wasn't one of the Expencive ones
Like the Stinger .90 & the DNHP 60/90 OR THE T-Rex 600 n. the Stinger .50 wasn't cheap Either
There's no way to look down the Intake to see if it's wide open ??
I really appreciate the Help from you guys (I MEAN IT)
If I have any more Questions I'll Post them Here
Thanks

You'll learn to hear it. When you attempt to start it with the throttle full open, it makes a unique sound.

You'll have that sound memorized after the second time it happens.
