Death Shake

Hey all... this seems to be a common ordeal among us bird flyers... if you are using a CP mod then I am not sure what is causing your shakes, but for all you FP flyers out there...

Ensure your main rotor is tracked just right. It may look like it is tracking, add a little cyclic input to check. If the camber throughout the blades is different then the rotor disc will go in and out of track depending on cyclic input.

I needed to "twist" some pitch out of one of my unmarked blade as well as flattening the camber throughout the blade. I added more camber to my marked blade (I think I wrapped the tracking tape too tight)... she is flying smooth as silk now.

Just play with your blades a bit before giving up.

Never Leave Your Wingman!!!
The models will (and normally do) follow me everywhere....

I just wanted to thank you guys for the information. I was having the same problem with my Hummingbird shaking. Per the Mfg., they thought is was my receiver and a bent shaft. I almost ordered a new shaft, but then I saw this post.

I did exactly what you suggested and it's flying smooth now!

Thanks again,
Carl W
