Has slowed down quite a bit in the QJ forum these days huh?
Whats everyone up to?
Has anyone got any new video of QJ's in flight?

My QJ has just received some new HS85BB servo's to replace the crapola HS81MG's.
Have also soldered up my new Castle HV45 esc tonight.

Just have to tidy all my wiring up properly now.
Will take her out for a shakedown run on Sunday.
Really looking forward to giving my QJ a thrashing
Need more money for batteries now. The time for testing is over

If you bling it, they will come :D

Time poor Im afraid.
But yes money is always an issue with hobbies.
Its usually the first thing to get the chop when money is tight.
I cant fly my QJ the way I want to yet.
Need to get the medium stretch kit and the rigid head dampers.
As it is now, its great for FFF.
But even flips are very slow.
Havent bothered to try a tic toc with it yet, as I forsee tail blades being eaten lol.
Im going to try the longer boom and dampers, and then make up my mind if the QJ will stay in my fleet.
I love it and all, but Im trying more and more 3d lately.
So if it cant do what I need it to, then Im afaraid it will be bye bye QJ (I'll miss you) and hello MSH Protos.
Now I know the Protos will smoke the QJ for performance regardless of upgrades.
What I want to see is if I LIKE what the QJ is capable of doing.
So we'll see what happens I guess.
I do know one thing..........flying only at 3/4 speed across the lake, this thing hauls ASS big time.
Tracks so nice, just a shame that the cyclic is so slow.

If you bling it, they will come :D

I haven't been flying my EP8.

I have a Scorpion 3036-1000 to try on it. I need a 16t pinion to run 6S at the current headspeed.

But mainly need the time to work on it.

And what time I have, I have been flying my Vibe 50.

Gorn,

Have you tried the swift paddles with it?
I remember pretty good luck with it in the cyclics department.

Pinecone,

Let us know how the Scorpy works for your 8

EP 10 Paddles are basically the same thing but longer. Ive tried them and they made crazy cyclic response. Ive since gone back to the originals because it suits my crappy flying style beter at least for now. If you decide to try them out I found they work best with the SP flybar.

It has slowed down...and as a first time newbie to this great hobby
I am a bit miffed by the silence lately! Maybe it is a bit cuz of the economy and a bit cuz of the election here in the States..but I have been grounded for a month now due to the lack of a "part" for my SP. Good news is on the horizon as I understand that Harold has parts on the way. I did a rookie no no and took out a chunk of flesh as well as destroying a spindle shaft. I was adjusting the gain on my 401 on the bench and accidently..engaged the mtr. Oops.
Well Jimbo, the good news is I learned something hopefully..and durring this quiet time I too have ordered a 9 thanks to you! Hope everyone has a great fall/winter and I look forward to reading your Quick discussions!

You are the man Jimbo and I thank you kindly! I will check with Harold Monday on the status of my order, if its still a ways off I am going to take you up on that offer. as I said earlier I have had 4 on B/O for over a month now and I sure miss flying. I commute from my job in Seattle (200 + Miles)to my home in Grand Coulee every weekend to perfect skies! I am following your setup on the 9 every step of the way and you can count on me bugging you for advice.
Thanks again!

I try to fly my 9 every day . It realy is an awsome helicopter. It flies realy smooth when wanted and it 3D`s realy good. Of course my 3Ding is not that good but it will do it...
Harold should have the EP9`s in stock...
If all you need is a spindle for the SP I got one I can give you so you can get your heli back in the air. Just give me your address and I will send it off..

Got the info. I got you a spindle and a tail shaft ,NIP, ready to go in the mail in the morning...
I will probably never fly my EP8 Sportsmans any more so I realy don`t have any use for the 4mm stuff.
The EP9 and the EP8 Experts have the 5mm spindle and tail shafts, much better than the 4mm stuff.
