Can I bind it to my DX7 ? No, it can only bind with the Elite 2.4 series of transmitters.

will Century provide a PNP version later ? Meaning everything except for the transmitter? If this is what this question is asking, then no, not at the moment but that's not to say it's not possible for future versions.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		PNP can be used loosely but if it's the actual meaning of Plug and Play, then the Swift 100% RTF is the closest you'll get.

Full steps from out of the box to air would go something like this:

Take apart packaging, charge battery, tighten down flybar control arm, put batteries into transmitter, install charged battery into Swift, then go fly.

Yes I know that PNP means "plug and play". But it seems that term has been used do describe varying stages of "RTF"

1 - Assembled with motor and ESC
2 - Assembled with motor and ESC installed
3 - Assembled with motor, ESC and battery pack
4 - Assembled w/motor, ESC, servos & BP
5 - Assembled w/motor, esc, servo, gyro & BP
6 - etc.

I was asking which of the above does he consider PNP

As Century does offer all of their Swifts in various combos using these components:

1 - Swift 16 kit or ARF, Swift 550SE, Swift 620SE
2 - 550+, 600+, 650 (550KV) & 650 (800KV)
3 - 55A ESC, 80A ESC & 85A High Voltage
4 - Electron 4S/3300, Evo4S/3700, Evo5S/3700, EVO6S/3700 & 5000 and TP6S/5000

IMHO, if someone already has a radio with heli software built in, and his own servos, he is better with one of the many combos offered..then with the RTF.

As it is now, the RTF is for the newbie who is starting from scratch.
As he progresses he can get better radio and gyro and battery packs without much of a hit to his Visa card .

Century would sell more of these even if it were 40-50$ more( hint hint )



one last thing on the TX I can't bring my computer to the field
I don't have a Laptop nor would I buy 1
Century you really limited yourself with this TX .

I received a Swift RTF the other day and at present it is on the way back to Century to correct some issues. The big issue is the Transmitter would not bind to the receiver. The second issue is the main gear was not meshing with the drive or tail gear. It looks to me that it was not assembled correctly from the factory. I was told that the main shaft could have slipped during shipping but the colar was super tight so I suspect not. Having said all that one thing that should be said is the product support via e mail and telephone has been wonderful! It is so nice to get to a real person with out having to wait or leave a message. That alone has taken what could have been a belly drop to a rather pleasant experiance. I hope when it gets back that it flys as good as what I have read.

My name is Antonio, each Swift RTF that leaves HQ are flown by me, and approved by the senior inspector. I am baffled of why there are a couple that are having problems, so far the Swift RTF has a good track record in terms of problems out of the box, because we ensure that they leave our headquarter in 100% flying condition.

How we inspect and fly the Swift before it reaches the customer.

1) Workmanship.
2) Content in the package.
3) Has now tuned program.

Test fly:

1) Is it tracking?
2) Is it steady?
3) Does it fly?

If all question are answered we then package the Swift once again, and it receives both pilot and inspectors approval.

When you find out why these problems are happening I for one would like to know. My Swift should be there tomorrow so you can take a look at it and find out about the transmitter not binding. I have a theory about it and passed it on to Elliot. My self and one other fellow here at work corrected the main gear problem so if it comes back again with it not meshing then we will know for sure shipping is indeed the problem.

Maybe what the small print agreement that would be affiliate with Spectrum/JR or on the other hand ditto with Futaba and their FASST system.

If you want a DX7 or FASST unit, why not buy the Swift combo with the 550+ motor, the 55A ESC with their 4S/3300 battery pack and their CN2018A gyro, and have at it.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I personally would not use a 55 amp ESC on 4s. Maybe on 5s or 6s because there will be a smaller constant current draw at higher voltage. I would go to the 80 amp range for 4s......Ron

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		The current draw of the 4S configuration, is directly related to the gearing (head speed). If configured for head speeds below 1700, it is fine. My Swift 16 uses the 600A+ motor and the 55A ESC. With its current gearing (11T) I run it on 5S and 4S with no problem.

Due to the lower rotor speed of the 4S configuration, the watts required is not very high. With this configuration I get a little better then a 1640 rotor speed and the average watt requirement is only 460 watts and 35A (according to my Eagle Tree read out) with 530mm blades.

Through continuous flips or tighter funnels the average amp draw will go up to about 43 or so and popping out of a death spiral will peak for a fraction of a second at about 70.

That same motor and ESC has been in that heli now for about 330 flights!!

Per our conversation yesterday, I was able to bind the Swift out of the box as it was sent back to our Return and Claim department. I did this about 7 to 10 times.

I reprogrammed the ESC and rebind the Swift it worked. Today I finally had the chance to fly your Swift, the weather is cold here in California, but outside is dead calm.
