Picoboard is a gyro, BEC, 2 ESCs (one for the main motor and one for the tail) and a mixer all in one. There is also a version of the Picoboard that has a receiver too. Other companies have copied the idea and call them 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 boards. With the Picoboard you dont need a helicopter radio, any old 4 channel junk will work.
I learned to fly with a Piccolo, they'll take quite a lot of abuse without getting serious damage. A 2S 1500 lipo runs them for about 15 minutes.
