Screen enclosure restrictions?

Does anyone know if there are any size restrictions for the enclosures / tents on the flightline? I just got a new one, and I'd love to bring it to the Jamboree. Let me know

PS :

Anyone know how to contact IRCHA? I already pre-registered for the jamboree, but i'm interested in becomming a member as well. Would I get a $10 refund for the member pre-registration ? just wondering. It would also help me find out officially about the top question.

I dont think there are any size restrictions. When are you arriving? You may not find a place for it if you arrive after Wednesday tho....

Also, I wonder if any other pilots would give you a hard time for something that big.... most people have 8x8 or 10x10 tents... and those are usually stacked 2-3 deep.

Tents

We request that you keep the tents to the standard square 10x10 type.

If you would like to join IRCHA please do so on line and send the Secretary (secretary@ircha.org)an email or feel free to see me at the Jamboree and I will be glad to get the refund taken care of.

I would imagine that to be true during the daytime. What activities are planned that prohibit evening flying?

I would imagine the comp would be over each day by 4-5pm. There is light until 9pm these days to allow flying for 3-4 hours each day.

I dont know for sure, but I would probably guess that the contest may go later than that, plus contestants may practice until later.

Based on what I heard from Craig I think he is pretty adamant about there being no flying at all... anytime. So I wouldnt count on that being a possibility... the last thing the Worlds crew needs is having to police the entire AMA site to make sure no one is flying.

Hopefully everyone will be cooperative... hey Worlds only comes around every 7 or 8 years. The least the rest of us could do is not make it any harder on the Worlds crew and just wait until IRCHA to fly.

Tent Size

Brett,

As far as the size of the canopy... It's a 30' diameter tent (at widest point). It would take the place of 3-4 of our 10x10 and 10x12 canopies. Dave had contacted me via PM, explaining some of the ideas of where it might be able to be placed. I will be arriving on Tuesday afternoon, as I have a volunteer shift wednesday morning, and I have a 4 hr drive from Illinois.

I guess we can pack few more DVDs for non flying days.

But I do get the fingers twitching as the withdrawal sets in.

Actually my right hand starts to stir violently as my left hand start to twitch up and down.

I talked to Dave Milner the other night about flying on Monday/Tuesday.
World Finals will be on the 'L Pad', closest to AMA Headquarters on Monday/Tuesday. Finals should be over by about noon on Tuesday.
Main IRCHA site closed for setup.
Flying MAY be permitted at site 3, stage center (where the showers are, and main runway) but will strictly limited to 2.4 only.
