IRCHA will use a greater part of the AMA facility this year. In doing so we have labeled the field by color. Red, White & Blue fields. Site 4 being Red, Site 3 Being White and Site 5 ( also known as the 600 x600 ) as the Blue field.
Site 4 "Red Field" will be the main site for the jamboree, just as it always has been in the past.
Site 3 " White Field" will be open for FAI Style flying only, NO 3D flying at that site. There will be an area for hovering practice only. There is also a group that has volunteered to offer a little buddy box flying for those totally green to the hobby and do not wish to fly next to any of the hot dogs on the site 4 flightline.
Site 5 "Blue Field" Will host the final 2 days of World Championship flying only. You may watch at this site if you like on Monday & Tuesday.
Another question I keep getting is the golf carts. It has always been an AMA policy that you had to be 16 to drive a cart at IRCHA or any event for that matter. As hard as we have tried to enforce this, it is difficult at best. Many of the cart rental companies are now having renters sign contracts which include age, damage clauses. If you are a parent, be aware you ARE liable for damages.
There is a diagram located at www.ircha.org on the 2009 jamboree page. There is a lot of information on that page including hotel links and a list of this years activities as they are being confirmed.
