Golf Carts Unfortunately last year some of the carts from the jamboree found their way into area farmer’s corn fields and IRCHA had to pay nearly $2000 in damaged crops fees. We find ourselves confronted with a request for the attending pilots. No 4 wheelers please, only Golf Carts with turf tires ( personal or rented carts ) Anyone bringing a golf cart onto AMA property will be asked to register your name & contact information. Please DO NOT LEAVE AMA property on a golf cart. This only increases the cost of the event for everyone. Anyone in violation of these guidelines will lose flying & cart privileges and will be subject to prosecution.

Always some fool ruins it for everyone. Only question I have is that as I read it we can use the cart to go from one flying field to another as well as to the museum. Anyone know if this is correct?

Some of these idiots are ruining it for everyone else. I think these young kids need to stay off these carts as well. IMHO Ircha last year was cart crazy. Everyone hauling a$$ all over the place. Hope they cut back on the carts this year. These carts are getting out of hand and it is almost like putting your life in danger just walking out to the flight line.

I don't mind cart useage, but damm. Does anyone else think last year was kinda crazy?

Problem is some of the parents don't have much more sense than their kids. I was involved with Junior Drag racing and you should have seen how some of the parents would act. And this is something that is suppose to be fun for kids and teach them things like sportsmanship, having fun, responsibility, etc.

I understood the situation with the golf cart and the corn field was the result of a "well known" pilot who got a bit crazy. Actually not a kid. I do believe there should be some restrictions on the carts, but that is a big flight line and I for one really enjoyed having my cart there. according to what I have seen posted earlier my cart would be restricted because of the tires I have on my cart which are the stock set from EZ-GO. That would be a real bummer if I were unable to use my own golf cart because of the type of tires it came with!

My golf cart has similar tires to yours. It is no big deal though, I am planning on changing the tires out on my cart before I go to IRCHA. Just go to the dealer or online and get a set of turf tires.

I heard you were thinking of slaming your golf cart and adding spinners. Is that true? Maybe a carbon hood, a coffee can muffler and a big tach like the import guys run? I know how crazy you Michigan guys are about your transportation.

Just a fast reply
Yes, carts can be driven from one site to another ( anywhere on AMA property ) We just want everyone to use common sense ( sometimes in short supply ) The event is big and getting bigger and the need for transportation will continue to grow with the event.
Plans also call for remote parking at the ends of the field again this year. We will have a shuttle that will run from site 3 to 4 and the remote parking areas for most of the weekend.

This will be another volunteer position. Must have valid drivers license & confirm insurance. More on this position later...

Thanks, look forward to a great event again!

Well you are partly right....dropped in some more horsepower, a nice lift (got to get thru the deep snow here in Michigan lol), have strobes front and rear, got some underbody neons (got to have more than helis with the night lights lol)

Only thing if I want to put the roof back on I got to drop it back down a bit (won't fit in the trailer with the lift lol

Ircha sound system???

Does anyone know who to talk to about getting more speakers on the line so as to hear the goings on? I sit down the field and there are no speakers that you can hear and you feel like you are not part of the action. With such a great attendance , there should be more speakers.

The cheese slipped off my cracker a long time ago

IRCHA Sound System

Unfortunately what we used last year is all we have. We don't have any extra equipment to run the rest of the flight line. I am also thinking that we are pushing all we can with the system, if I'm not mistaken.

Here is just a wild thought. Depending on the system you have, you might be able to add on a low power transmitter therefore people can pick up the PA through their car or portable radios. It usually isn't too expensive and that would solve the problem

Transmitter

I have no clue, but I can sure ask the question to see if it is possible and what the cost would be.
