What when wrong here.....in a 6 foot hover when suddenly I heard a bang and engine dies. Short drop into the deck with a heavy landing but no strucural damage. On inspection of the cause the inner core of the OS 8 plug had exploded away from its casing and shot into the front of the canopy. Any ideas anybody

That sounds weird, I have heard of the plug being ejected when they come loose,but, I have never heard of a core separating. So the threaded part was still there? -----Weird.

that a first !!! now you can take it back for a new one !!!

I did this before , mine was caused by runing to lean and overheating.
give it a check maybe that is what happend...

My OS8 Plug ejected..

Happened to me a couple of times.. causing me to have low altitude Auto.. lucky. I wonder what might have cause my plug ejected from my 61... any idea guys?
