I have a Helimax 450, a blade cp and a mini titan (needs motor and esc). Trying to decided if I want to keep the helimax or should I let it go.

I had a MX400 pro and recently crashed it, I decided not rebuild it as one of my LHS decided to not carry spares for it. I tried ordering some parts from him but he said that his supplier is not carrying anymore parts. Having said that my other LHS does have parts or I can order them online.

Most Trex parts do fit on the MX400 so I guess MX400 owners are lucky that way.

In the end I decided to buy a Mini Titan since another LHS does have spare parts for the MT.

I am lucky in the sense that I have at least 6 LHS to shop from and the one with best spare supports wins on what brand I buy.

Cheers,

Gord.

I'm pretty sure it has left. I have fond memories of my MX-450 (I went inverted without crashing with it for the first time)but I sold mine 6 month's ago simply because TowerHobbies quit selling it and I knew it would soon be worthless with no parts support here in the US.
The company that makes the heli is ARK and from what I understand they are still sold overseas.

Little competition

I agree little competition between TRex and MX will bring better value for all of us.

of course they are on their way out, I had an x400, stupidly duped into it by people saying it was as good or better than the trex 450XL, gimme a break, the thing was junk. I ended up ditching it after having it break numerous times and just buying a trex 450XL, do you guys know how much easier the heli went together and how much better the quality was? Its not even a comparison, not to mention, everyone sells align parts.

Funny you mentioned the Shogun. At one time I had 7 of them, now only 4 but all flyers. Haven't used them for over a year.

When I crashed my MX practicing aerobatics, I decided it was not worth rebuilding and bought a Mini Titan. IMHO the MT is easier to fix after a crash, no stacked frames and the servos are easier to remove. You can also remove the boom without removing the belt. Heli-Max needs to update their 450 classs of helis before I would consider buying from them again. Right now there are plenty of choices, Mini Titan, Beam and Outrage to name a few.

Heli-Max are you listening ??? Instead of copying Align come up with something original.

MX 450 is the bird I cut my teeth on. It is very stable and smooth, and with some modifications, can be made to be pretty aggressive. Parts are pretty expensive though as opposed to my Beam E4, which I highly recommend. I still have my MX 450, but it is collecting dust and sitting on my desk. Once I bought the Beam, it is my go to bird, very stable but very quick on cyclic when you get on it. It may be time to retire the MX, but I will always remember her as my first!! LOL
