CP +

Anyone having problems with new blades for the eFlite CP+? Picked up a set of replacement blades last week before Fay hit. After opening the package, I found the blades to be warped. This is the 3rd time and each has been from a different HS. Had e-mailed them but have yet to receive a reply.

daytona, I haven't used the stock CP blades in a long time ( a little pricey 15.99 I like the Esky CP2 blades (7.32) and sometimes the B400 blades 12.99 and cut them down to size. A little heavier but pretty straight. I have also used Align pro woodies and cut them down-- very straight -never warped. The stock Eflites are very light and are probably more affected by the heat and humitity of Florida. Carbon Blades are a little pricey as well but they are nice and straight and usually stay that way, until they hit the ground that is

Blades

You had to add that last part about the ground. These blades were new in stock at the 3 hobby shops I bought them from, 2 in FL and 1 in Kentucky, so they should not have been affected by the heat and humidity.
Are the holes on the other blades the same size and location??? I'll have to stop at the LHS in Gainesville Friday to see if they have any in stock.

Actually the holes in the Align and B400 are bigger but in my experience it doesn't matter much- centrifical takes care of it. If you cut the blades down make sure they are exactly the same length and weight. I bolt them together on one end and tape them on the other and use a hacksaw with a fine tooth blade to cut thru them at the same time. Then I seal the exposed ends with CA (superglue). I also bolt my blades fairly snug in the blade grips which helps prevent the dreaded "boomstrike" along with stiffer dampning.

Oh yeah daytona, if you are using the stock brushed motor, the heavier blades will make it run hotter but if you are using a good brushless motor, especially an outrunner you should have no problem.

I remember seeing that video - control-line heli flying at it's best! And the string kept you from falling over at the end of the video.

I need to get my camera out on a tripod to get some more videos to upload!

Keep up the great posts!

Good one!

DougsRC,
I thought I saw a string or something on your first vid; wasn't clear enough to tell for sure tho.
Cool just the same.

Hey Doug
Do you have a brushless tail motor on that blade? I finally got around to putting a Feigao bl tail on mine and what a difference it seems to make. I've only flown it around the backyard with some almost full positive collective climbs. The tail seems to REALLY hold now. I'll fly it this weekend and know for sure. If I recall, you had good luck with the brushed gws tail motor, is that what you still have?

Fun in the Water!

A little fun in the water with the Blade CP Pro...

You can see at the end of the video that the floats perform the function they are intended to perform...

Enjoy!

Very Impressive and brave. I have yet to try and fly over water, mostly because of this little video.

I have never laughed so hard. I think that is the transmitter going over the camera's shoulder on the left. I'll crash the little heli on land all day long, and usually the electronics are fine. Not sure how you would go about drying that stuff off.

stupid gravity......

I gotta put those GWS motors on mine, too lazy to solder.

I tried brushless but ESC burn out.
different ESC and motor. ESC doesn't like to be on Rudder channel.

Need to get my soldering iron and get this thing going again.

I just got mine back together; I'm trying out a slightly elevaded DD tail on a duel tail motor mount using the upper mounting slot.
Now just have to get some stick time to dial it in.
Not the clearest pic's, but you get the idea.

tutelar-rc
Kudo's to you for all your vid's and input on these little heli's; which has helped me get this little beast upgraded.
Nice flying there; those floats are too cool.

DougsRC
Dude, I'm still laughing at your vid with the string where you almost go inverted yourself.
Keep them coming; I'll try and snag someone to shoot a short vid of my latest configuration sometime soon.

Peace guy's.
