Brian, The throttle hold will cut the motor so you can auto rotate. If you still have control of the collective then it is working fine. That's a steal you got there. Have fun with it.

Now my question to all is I have a Park 370 5400kv motor. Is this too much motor for the CP Pro v1?

If it fits and it's not too heavy it will work. 5400kv is pretty high though. I might stick with the 8 tooth pinion. . . .

Ah yes, I forgot about the tail! Hmm, maybe I will try it and see what happens. Good idea on going with the 8 tooth pinion. The weather is not that great today so I may as well experiment. Hmm, maybe a brushless tail would be in order as well.

haha, figured out the throttle hold thing, like you said. I was used to my DX6i which thr hold was 100% and I had a throttle cutoff button.

I may have found my first problem, but I'm not sure what it is yet. It flew fine yesterday. I bound it to my DX6i this morning and fired it up. Seemed fine but once I got up to about 20% throttle, the tail just started spinning uncontrolled. I'm thinking my gyro settings must be messed in the TX. (little did I know thats disabled) Anyways. Bound it back to the stock TX. Took it out tonight and its doing the same thing. Could this be a bad gyro? Maybe a bad esc? I could for the hell of it throw my Telebee on there for testing.

Oh I forgot one thing that may have made it fly yesterday. Yesterday I flew in the grass. Everytime I powered up the tail did kick in pretty hard, but the grass held it. I neutralized it with some rudder input, and it flew fine from there. Could it just be out of whack?

I need one of those to fly in my office. Tried to fly my .90 in there but man is my wife pissed now!

Brian, If you had a bad gyro you simply would be out of control right from the get go. If you managed to fly the heli without a gyro you are my hero. My guess is the Revo mix is out of whack. You could try and dial it in on your DX6i and try it since it has mixing function but I do not think you will be able to do it on the stock TX. Or you may have a problem with the on-board mixer. If so you could go separates with an esc on the main motor, tail rotor and a separate RX. Here is the link to do just that:

Good Luck

Okay, I took it back out on my lunch break tonight. As long as I take off from the grass, the tail will 'stick' in the grass and not spin out of control. It seems like even after the gyro light goes red, indication of intialization, it hasn't nulled. I spin it up in the grass, throw in some rudder input to neutralize the spin, and pull collective, it flies pretty close to perfect. The tail still 'wags' a bit it seems. I think I'm going to play with the gyro settings a bit, I just don't understand why it goes completely out of control, FULL SPEED on the tail.

If the tail is wagging in the air then the gain is set too high on the gyro. Try dialing down the gain a little at a time. This might take care of the over compensation of the tail while your trying to spool up before you break ground as well.

Yeah, thats definitely what I'm going to do here in a few minutes. Funny thing is I powered up on the pavement tonight. I waited for about 30 seconds and spooled up... it didn't do it at all! I'm confused. That initialization light is coming on way too early I guess.

Final conclusion; My gyro ready light comes on wayy too early. I've been flying it over 5 packs now without flaw by simply waiting about 30 seconds before I spool up. Wierd eh?

I just bought the blad cp pro2. AWsome! now that i know how to fly this heli kicks butt! paid 169.00 for the BNF version rather than 400.00+ for a trex 250.00. I have over 50 flights on it and the same original pair of blades on it. there it something aout the blade that I like so much! I thing because it seems so dialed in. Just program the radio lik the instructions tell you and shazam! I hope this heli gets a second wind in the RC market. I do concour that parts are overpriced for what they are but i am not crashing like before. With this heli i feel safe flying it in neighberhood parks.

omloro, Im with you. The Blade just seems to be very smooth and responsive. I have been flying heli's off and on for over 25 years. Never have I had a helicopter that feels as good as the Blade CP Pro. Im not afraid of crashing as I know it will not break the bank to re-build. I fly a Gaui 200 and I am finding myself grabbing the Blade over the Gaui everytime I go out to fly.

Something just clicked for me today with my Pro 2. I too realized, just like you guys, that its not going to hurt if I crash it. I've been flying it in the grass, and while I haven't had any major crashes, I'm not afraid to crash it anymore! It clicked so hard today that I'm no longer stuck in hover mode! I actually flew it... can you tell I'm stoked? Even better, I didn't crash at all!!!! Today was a good day to fly.

Brian, Congratulations on your next step in flying heli's. The whole reason I bought the CP Pro was to be able to overcome the fear of the crash. I find myself with little hesitation trying new manuevers. The little hesitation I have is because Im not stocked up on parts yet. I just ordered parts for mine cheap from www.rcslot.com. I ordered a canopy for $9.79 when all others are selling for nearly $20. Even with shipping I came out cheaper than some of the other vendors I would have liked to use. Service is yet to be seen but I will let you all know when my parts come.
