CP +

Now I know I'm going to put my CP+ back together and rebuild. Even though I might not be anywhere near as good as you and your brother are, I got to have some more fun in my old age.

Dieselracer

I was looking on the Neumotor web site and can't find the motor you mention (neutron 4100) Can you post a link to the page it's on?

I'm thinking of following your set up. What a few more duckets in the pursuit of the ultimate BCPP.

Are you running the CC 35 (main) as well as the (Tail) CC 9 ESCs?

Thanks for sharing.

With Radio

From what I read, you are using a Futaba radio. Any conflict with a Spektrum radio and receiver??

Hi guys, haven't posted here for awhile, but been keeping track of this thread, some really good stuff been happening.
Got a question, seeing you guys having too much fun, I decided to get the old CP back in the air after taking a break since last fall (pushing my limits resulted in too many rebuilds), anyway, I just did a complete rebuild, from the skids up, but put in the old brushless main, which has seen a few close-ups of the ground , had her flying great and on the second battery she went in, no damage, it was low and slow and into tall grass, the shaft on the motor had broken off in flight, so I picked up this e-flite/hacker motor cheap and will give it a try, my question is, since its 4900kv instead of 4100kv, will it blow the head apart (all plastic, no bling), and will I have to chop the throttle curve down to say 90 instead of 100, to not blow the head apart, or will it just be a little extra wild.

Appreciate any info you guys have,
Dean

Thanks DougsRC, that vid is just too funny , how did you know that's where I got my screen name.

I already put the ten tooth on it, we'll see what happens, I'll top out the throttle curve at 85 to start and go up from there... whats the worst that could happen , it explodes and I have to do ANOTHER rebuild.

I let you know.

For 4900kv a 10t is way to high that will put you somewhere around 3700HS way to high I run 3200 on mine. You need an 8t pinion that should put you around 3100 HS at 100% throttle.

Thanks Buildem336, looks like I'll be changing it to an 8 tooth, don't need to cause a plastic head shower ... If I remember correctly, didn't someone already try a 3500+HS awhile back, I don't recall the results though.

Thanks for the input guys, like they say, two heads are better than one, and your two heads (DougsRC & Buildem336) were right on about the 8 tooth pinion gear, works great, it even seems to mesh better than the 10 tooth; just got back from a couple test flights and it's pretty darn powerful, definitely more so than the e-flite BL... The motor has a turbine type wine to it, quite different than the Park 370, and almost drowns out the tail sound, almost...
Now to get the cobwebs dusted off the thumbs and see what she'll do.

Happy again,
Dean

Reborn again

I figured I better post a pic while she's still in one piece.
Anyway, still milking the brushed GWS tail motors, but that will change soon, otherwise she flies fast with plenty of power, almost too much....Naaaaaa
