Helicoptertechnik Schwing makes a 1:5 scale 135 that uses a belt driven fenstron, it was in 2008 volume 1 of RC Turbine Jets and Helicopters magazine, no idea of teh web site though.

Rivet prep

Sample of last weeks work. I'm using the Starwood Models rivet kit.

This week task is to complete the upper cowl and tailboom latches and detail work. This might take 2-weeks as I'm thinking about re-doing all the latches.

Riding the work train as build is getting all my free time.

One thing after another. Air deflector is a labor of love (fit/check/remove/trim - repeat).

The floor panels are finally installed with hidden fasteners - Why hidden? Seemed like the method to use.

I'm now looking at reconfiguring the electronics for a cleaner look (i.e. servo placement). The think tank is active so I'm running with it. Need to keep a notepad on-hand for the next build to follow.

Finishing up old sections before starting new - There is light.

I see you have tail control upgrade parts installed.

How did you like the pieces, all fit well?

I'' make you a trade, I'll send you my 135 to scale out and paint and you send me yours and I'll tune it to fly like mine??

Yours is GREAT looking so far, it's going to be a show stopper when painted!!

Turbinator - I like vendor and custom parts by "Multinut". The fit is good and no flex.

That trade seems a little lope-sided, but if you aren't looking forward to scaling yours out - I'm sure we could work something out.

Tuning is the fun part especially with this one.

Well on another note - installed mechanics for some backyard test hovering today. That made my fathers day.

Yes - I can take it to work. Just drop kids off first, then put heli in car.

The Rigid system really make a difference. In a way it feels like cheating.

When all else fails just pull over and fly an empty business park parking lot. It was dusty, so I just played the role of street sweeper (blower).

For the exterior I just need to finishing the sliding doors and winch. I haven't started the interior or skid detail. I need to get moving on the decals.

Huston - we've gone electric. First test session complete.

As we all know - great deal of room and weight savings.
