I was wondering why you didn't come out today. That sucks. Man I thought I was having a rough year. You beat me in that category hands down.

Gaui did great. I have 20 flights on the airframe already and everything seems to be good. Tom flew yesterday for the first time and added some trim so I will go back and check the subtrims and check the servo horns to make sure evertyhing is good. So far I enjoy it. It flies just like a bigger nitro with out much problem with wind. Heck as cheap as you can get Zippy batteries now makes it a lot easier.
Another 700???? Man you guys must be almost pros or you really like wrenching on stufff.

Hey Cobra, what? Another 700?? Is there really that much difference in them at your level of flying? I mean can you tell a big difference between your 600 and 700? The fuel cost scare me half to death, thats why i don't even think about getting one right now. I still like the Nitro better than the electric. I hate charging batteries all the time. Its so much nicer to fuel and go, and fly longer on a fill. Now to find a way to make Nitro fuel by the 55 gallon drum to save even more $$$$$. I think I can get Alcohol at a pretty decent price, but the other stuff, well..... I don't know!

Chris, I know Phil is getting the itch to get his 425 finished and flying. Did you put the extended boom on yours so you can use bigger blades? How did Tom like your Gaui? I bet he flew the heck out of it. He's a pretty darned good pilot too! He's right up there with Steve, well close anyway from my limited observations! But at any rate miles away from where I am thats for sure!

No I did not stretch it. I wanted to run it the exact same as trex 500. Blades are cheaper and I'm sure there isn't that much of a difference. Bigger blades means bigger motor and even bigger batteries. Tom only hovered it and did a few loops, rolls, and some inverted punch outs but that was about it. So far 4 mins of flight I am only drawing out 1350 mah out of 3000 mah packs. It is only running 2090 on the head though.

I found a flying buddy for lunch time flying It's nice to fly with someone else at lunch time... He's the prez (or after tonights elections, the PAST prez) of a local flying club. Thats the one I joined because they are the ONLY club in the Toronto area that allows Helis and Planes... anyhow, he's into heli's as well, in fact, he's the chief instructor at the club, so we've been putting together a wings program for heli's and next season will start providing lessons at the club... should be interesting...

Anyhow, not much going on, working a LOT, in fact, I'm still at the office at 11:30 at night, been here since 7 this morning But at least I have Phoenix sim with me, and have managed to squeeze in some flying on that today...

Weekend is looking pretty good weather wise, hope to get lots more flying before the white stuff flies...

White stuff!! no way Odam! We're skipping that this year for lack of interest!
I've been rebuilding my 600's after too many crashes! I have one done and ready to go and the other........ well might wait for a bit depending on the weather. If it doesn't change too much I'll go ahead and make it flyable.

Out of all my helicopters, I only keep two flying at the moment, well, three counting my scale 450... I either fly the flybarless 450, or the Raptor 50... occasionally I pull out the scale Agusta A-109 and just fly circuits....

I have three more 450's here to build, two of them for someone else, and one for me, it will be my night flyer....

I hope to have my 500 going soon, just waiting on a pinion and tail section...

I'm lucky to have two flying at the same time lately. Today however, I did fly 3 batteries on the 600e after rebuilding it. No crashes!!!! But I was only hovering it. I guess I am a little scared of crashing again!!
I did fly a 450 in the basement, I have to get the other 450's adjusted up as well and they will all be flying. Man are those parts small though!! After repairing 600's all season! I saw a TZ frenzy airframe today, and man, I'm impressed with the quality of the kit. It was a G10 frame, but the head was very solid and well machined. I've kinda had my eye on one early in the season but knew i had better learn to fly before i got another. But after I saw one today, I'm thinkin, Santa might wanna put that on my list!!
