Yeah, my 9303 took some getting used to, it's much more precise... the sticks are smoother, all round better radio....

I also have bad eyesight which changes on me due to my diabetes, and my depth perception is almost non existant... but I still like flying the 450, thats why I paint the canopy in flourescent colors. Sure it looks cheap and corny at the field close up, but when I fly, people comment on how easy it is to see, and soon they start doing the same thing

Its extremely windy here today, so no flying, but tomorrow is looking good...

Hey Cobra,

Does the 9303 really make that much difference? I was told to spend my money on fuel and fly more! I'm using the DX7. I was wanting to get a 9303. I need to get my circuits under control before i move on to the next thing i guess! I still crash way to much!

hay sonny ya it makes a differance if your doing sutff like inverted push offs but or rainbows but use the dx 7 its a great radio you dont need the extra mixes yet if your not dint stuff like inverted pumps and rain bows or maby aliron tic tocks. but you can doo all this stuff with the dx 7 just have to be a little better on the cyclic controols..

dont get me wrong fuel costs enough but it is a nice radio .
got mine from thebarnfloor for 509 and sold the reciever for 125 soo i got a good deal.

Hey Cobra, Sounds like you did get a good deal! I'm gunna wait on the 9303 as JR has a new 11 channel in the works and maybe they will get a lot of interest and there'll be plenty of 9303's for sale! I do need to get more practice on my circuits without getting all over the place and crashing! Having a real hard time with them. Getting kind of discouraged having crashed 4 out of my last 4 outings! OUCH!!! says the pocket book!! So as the weather gets colder and windier, I am getting the 450's ready to fly indoors. I have new frames coming for my 600E so I'll rebuild that again! I still have the 600N to fly, Not gunna let the battery fall out of that bird again! Geez! 2 straps and not the Align brand!! Any of you guys get into a funk during the learning phase of forward flight??

Sonny if it helps at all a lot of top pilots fly the dx-7. What do you think Alan Szabo flies. Besides the radio doesn't make the pilot. Just the pilot. Trust us don't bother wasting money on a different radio. Just buy fuel, fuel, fuel, and parts. Ok well with the way this fall has went with you so far maybe a lot of parts. Don't worry we were all there at once. Heck I'm still kinda there.

Bring back the rotary phone so we don't have to press "1" to proceed to ENGLISH.

I surely hope so! What 250, those things are just too small for a guy with neuropathy in the hands!
450 parts are bad enough to handle!

Hey finally, I get to see some video of Sonny flying...

Keep working on your orientations...

Man, I did two stupid things in the span of two days...

Last weekend when I was flying my 450, the tail twisted 90 degrees, so the tail rotor was horizontal... needless to say, impossible to control so I had to hit throttle hold and let it fall to the ground. The frame was all bent, so I took it all apart, and put everything on a new heli.... (luv those HobbyCity $29 kits!)

Last night I had it hooked up to the computer setting up the SK360 flybarless unit, and somehow I accidentaly reversed the throttle channel! I heard the blades start, I have a super slow startup... and they got faster and faster, full negative pitch, so at least it didnt take off, but it was sitting on my laptop on a small table between the wife and I... I grabbed the boom (remembering to reach around the tail blades after slicing my hand open once before...) and picked it up as it kept spinning faster and faster... I have the Scorpion 2221-6 (4450kv) with a 13 tooth pinion, so its pretty insane headspeed... I got the wife to reach up and unplug the battery, so all ended well...

This morning I stopped on my way to work to fly, since its light out before 7am now... I took off, and couldn't figure out why it was so touchy... Oh yeah, I had removed the expo when I was setting up the flybarless... dialed in 10% and took off again, still insanely unstable, but I'm persistent if nothing else, so I flew around a bit, did some flips, tried inverted hovering, but just couldn't hold it... Turns out I had the SK360 in setup mode, where it doesn't do anything, it passes all stick movement straight to the servos... Well, now I know what it's like to fly without a flybar, AND without a flybarless controller... I won't make that mistake again...

Anyhow, just wanted to share my mistakes....
