Must say i'm amazed at Readiheli's support re my jive, they responded that since they did not yet got a response from kontronik they will be willing to cover my shipping cost for the exchange unit

Common sense may not be common after all

Yeah it has one cable, you need a second for the bec, i'm running seperate bec as well espescially with the current problems surrounding the jive.
I'm delaying my exchange till a newer version arrives, hope this will be soon and fixed!

I'm running two cables. 3 flights, pretty good stuff so far. added a nice heat sink, although it wasn't especially warm without heat sink.

Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

im running an 80 hv on my maxi 2.

is it ok to run the bec using the single cable from the esc, and a seperate reveiver pack going into the receiver at the same time?
there both set at 5 volts. i know the voltage to the electronics dont change because there in parallel, but could there be any current issues?

just thought id be nice to have a back up source to the electronics

also what kind of throttle curves are u using in heli mode with the "active RPM controll"?

i use the governor. I don't know about the receiver pack, but I'd like to do the same, although right now, I run two cables ( using bec), and no receiver battery.

I'm new to Electric so sorry if this is a stupid question. But I see all the wires that connect to the motor are the same colour, does it not matter which wire you join to the red, blue or black motor wires?

just hook them up any Ole way, if it turns backwards , just swap any 2 wires that will change the rotation of the motor.

From the electrical view it can be always the same color. On each cable is the same voltage, current and frequency. Frequency and voltage are increased/decreased synchroneous for changing motor speed, current is dependend from load on the motor, but also always the same on each cable.

Gerd,

What did you use to fix the heat sink to the ESC and also mount the ESC to the frame. double sided tape and valcro?

Do you mount with the top of the ESC against the frame? meaning the heat sink is facing out to take advantage of airflow.

you need to use thermal compound to put sink-esc ( use stuff from computer store, for processors).

Thanks guys,

What size bullet connectors is everyone using for the Jive 80+HV ESC -Motor connection? I'm running 10s 5000mah packs.

What sort is best, Kontronic Silver connectors or something else?

5mm bullets or larger would work well. I use 6mm on mine.

the connectors are gold but I do not know who makes them. The silver kontronik connectors are a push fit. I would be afraid of them coming apart unless you are going to heatshrink over them to fix them together. The id of the solder end is also a bit small for the wires on the jive.

Fergus
