Thanks Rodan and SH. Rodan, my favorite part is making all the doo-dads and texture bits. Kind of where you're at now on yours which is coming out great I might add.

SH, you can either seal the wood with primer or resin and sand, or fiberglass, then prime and sand which will make it far more durable. I hope to get it glassed and primed this weekend. Then a zillion rivets and all the cockpit stuff. I told myself I wouldn't go nuts detaling this so that I could just have fun flying, but I'm pretty I'll get going and won't know when to stop. We'll see....

As much as I love the look of a glassed and primed surface, it sure tests my patience. I took a break today and made the exhausts.

Thanks guys!

Kevin, fiberglassing isn't my thing. Once is enough, nevermind making the mold

you can be proud of what you've done so far!!! stay focused and chip away at it, can't wait to see the finished product. the whiskey cobra is the coolest looking heli out there, unfortunately there's only one semi scale fuse in production.

Where'd you get the disco light (IR JAmmer)?

Nice work so far.

Hey Dave - Awesome conversion! I see in a post by Dr. tim that the "Whiskey" will be coming to Approach Engineering thanks to your talented efforts. This is great news.

Sorry guys, didn't notice these last few posts, but thanks again for the positive comments.

Spiderco, I'm not really sure why there aren't more W model fuses available. If anything they have more room than the earlier single engine models and they look so much better than those flat canopy deals

Patrick, the disco light is made from gold vinyl decal material. I took the appropriate size strip and just folded it so it had the grid pattern in it, then unfolded it and the lines stay. Then wrapped and glued it around a cylinder with some caps top and bottom made from plastic sheet. It's actually off my OV10D Bronco that died a terrible death. It was one of the few salvagable parts.

Thanks Boyd. I just sent him the files to see if he could use them for something. Hopefully he can.

Not much work on the Cobra lately as work has been keeping me busy. I did get most of the conversion to flybarless worked out tonight though, maybe I can test fly this weekend.

Thanks for the info on the disco light. I will have to make one up for my cobra pretty soon.

Making slow progress. I rebuilt the nose and canopy to update it with the night targeting system and got a little more glassing done. I also reversed the tail and main rotor rotation and finished the flybarless conversion with an SK360 gyro. I'm getting the flight qualities dialed in, I'd be flying now if it wasn't raining. Hopefully more soon....

I finally got off my butt and glassed and primed the rest of the fuselage. Now comes the fun part, rivets, panel lines, and a cockpit.

Absatively outdamnstanding Dave. Any word from Dr. Tim on his work to make your fantastic conversion available in kit for? Thanks for continuing to share this great build.
