| dahld Key Veteran | I've been holding my tongue until they became available. But they are now available direct from Aero-Model, and I also noticed today Esprit Model now has them in stock. Probably others as well, but I haven't looked around.I got to try it and do some test flying with this motor in my Logo 500 V-Bar in advance of its release here in the U.S. I'll keep my evaluation of it short; Awesome! Hacker got this one right for sure. A real power house, and runs cool.I've flow it with 14, 15 and 16 tooth pinions. 16T puts the head speed out of the ball park. 15T is the best compromise for aggressive 3D flying in my opinion. Head speeds with the 15T (without going too high or low with the ESC throttle percentage), is 2300-2450. The 14T is good for milder set-ups and longer flights (2100-2250 head speed). Funny how we now consider 2100-2250 head speeds as "milder" .I can't believe they're selling them for $150.00Yea, it's just my opinion, but you can't go wrong with this motor.Take care, Dave Dahl.Kyle Dahl | ||

| dahld Key Veteran | The values I'll state are not simply the numbers that show-up on the transmitter screen in the throttle menu. They are the percentage of the maximum available power the system produces. As an example, the maximum head speed the system produces with the Jazz 55-10-32 I used with the motor, occurs at 77% in my JR 9303 transmitter throttle menu. So, the ESC was at 100% throttle when the TX was still at only 77% (the power curve of the ESC and the transmitter throttle curve are not linear). So, as an example, the TX throttle menu may say only 62%, but the ESC is delivering 80% of it's power. With that being said, here's what I documented during my flights with the 15 Tooth:71% ESC = 230076% ESC = 2350 80% ESC = 2400 85% ESC = 2450The real world not being so precise, the data above is averaged up or down a few points, but it's pretty close to what you'll get. Of course, change the ESC, and the numbers may change too.Personally, I liked the 2300 @ 71%. You'd think 71% would be low enough to make the ESC run hot, but the throttle stick is pretty dynamic with aggressive 3D flying, and the ESC handled it fine. The extra "headroom" the ESC has at 71% seemed to help keep the head speed more constant under loads, and 2300 is enough (in my opinion of course), with the V-Bar.If you want to run below 2300, go with the 14T.Hope this helps, Dave. | OICU812 rrMaster | Great I look forward to hearing your results B, thanks. BTW are they making a A40-8-8 "1300" kv version? I ask as on the normal version I felt the 8-8 was stronger then the 10-8. | ||

| SMITHB72866 Veteran | Iam not sureI like the 10L wiht the 16 tooth pinion wiht a CC125 i felt it had more power over the 8LBUT with the Jazz esc i felt the 8L was a better choiceShawn you coming to Ircha Dude? RREmodels | ||

| OICU812 rrMaster | I am hoping so B, I recently wrecked my right knee real bad, I am looking at a entire replacement to save my leg basically, so we will see. I usually can not even stand an entire flight at moment | ||

| jrvander Veteran | I'm curious if this motor can handle 8S voltage. The specs rate it to 35K max rpm and 29.6v x 1100 = 32,560 no load speed, which is well under 35k.An engineer at Neutronics told me that a motor makes the best power when it's turning fast, that's why the T-wrecks 600E could get away with using 6S packs - a high 1600 kv motor and a monster sized reduction gear. With a 13.25 gear ratio (0.5 mod 16t pinion and 212 main gear), the head speed on a Logo 500 would be around 2200rpm under load. Might be a slick combo. - Jon(funny quote here) | ||

| Sean Williams Elite Veteran | OK I'm interested. So do you have to run it in governor mode or what? Is this a 6s motor? I'll be using a 100 amp align esc and don't plan on using gov mode on 6s, so would I just use like a 14t pinion and then do a straight 100 throttle curve? I'm confused. | ||

| helimatt Elite Veteran | Okay, I can't seem to find definitive info on this motor's ratings. Can someone tell me if it can be used 8S- thinking of a Trex 600, first trying 6S, and later maybe going 8S with this same motor.Hacker site didn't have any info that I saw. The best data found is on Espritmodels.com, but no info on the input V its rated for.Never, ever, ever, ever give up. | ||

| brucewsb Heliman | I was standing in the Espritmodel store on my recent trip to Fl. with the A40-10L ET in my hand and with my wife looking at me like "your not going to buy that" so I put it down. Oh well, that is what the internet is for.It was nice to finally visit the place where I make my Logo purchases.BTW - Shawn sorry to hear about the knee. Had 2 ACLs myself and still do everything I did in the past. | ||
