I have my Stinger stuffed into the TT Agusta fuse and it flies like crap. Too sensative. I've tried fbar weights and expo but still squirrely. I had a mishap last month; I was at a 10 ft hover and it leaned out from short of fuel. I tried to get it down but something on the head gave way and it landed in a bit of a mess. No major stuff, but I'm trying to get the head back together. There are a few broken parts and easy to replace, but one of the grip horns was bent. So,, being a McGyver I tried to bend it back gently but it broke off. To make matters worse the smaller of the two screws that hold it on broke off and so now I have a plugged hole.. can't win! Anyway, has anyone been through this? How about replacing with a Raptor head. I'm not sure, but I think someone told me the Raptor main shaft is 12mm and Stinger is 10mm. Advice anyone ??

I posted much the same think a little earlier and someone recommended flipping the grips to lead and I wanted to try it, but got to get the thing up and running first.

It can be changed but you will need everything that attaches to the main shaft from top to bottom. (12mm main shaft) It will be pricey unless you can find it used. I made the Gohbee head work, just had to work with it. I'd can the stock paddles and find some with thick airfoil and weigh at least 40 gms. Slide the weights all the way out. What main blades are you using? Rotortech 720 fai blades fly great. Try to stay with a blade that weighs 200+gms. The Gohbee 690 carbon reinforced blade is also fairly docile. Lots of expo (60-70%) If this doesn't tame it down enough you can go with the leading edge control mod.

apply heat before bending metals as it make it more maleable thus reducing potential breakage.

Thanks Pistol.
Don, I had a conversation with David about you today. He told me that you were the source of info to make this heli fly smoothly. You and I had a previous exchange about this and I planned to flip the grips around but had the little fender bender before I got the chance. I just ordered parts to return to pod and boom and then really work on getting the kinks out without worrying about smashing the expensive fuse. I'm flying some Mavrik blades 680's and I'm also going to take your previous advice and go to a longer blade. I'm going to try without the extreme expo cause I dont' like the feel when you get to the end of the expo and the heli takes an extreme command. Flipping the grips around seems pretty easy to do and won't take long. Right now I'm working on getting the busted screw out of the grip so I can replace the horn. David is a machinist and gave me some tips to try. We have a Bridgeport at work and I'm going to stop at Production Tool and pick up a 2.5mm tap and drill to match. I should have it back up and running by the end of the weekend depending on my broken screw results. The Stinger isn't my main bird and I hate to spend a wad on the blades. How comparable are the Gohbee 690s to the RT 720's? I'm sure that there is a big difference in price. I'll probably be pestering you for more advice as I go. Thanks for the help so far.

busyflyin, Dave may be giving me to much credit but I'll help all I can. I have alot of time invested in setting up this machine. I don't like the Maverick blades on this heli. I'd stay away from the tapered MAH blades also. For just scale or sport flying the Gohbee 690's are a good blade for a great price. They are not RT fai blades but they are nowhere near the price either. When you get it back together just post here or pm me and we'll get this thing going.

Great Don, I'm excited about that. I bought the heli slightly used from a good friend. He put maybe 2 gallons through it and then decided to do something different and sold it to me. I've never liked the way it flies but I've only put maybe a gallon through it myself. Maybe I'll call David for some blades. Thanks.
