Exactly. There are times when engine failure is justified to achieve a goal (we like drag racing around here). At those times, you only have to flick into idle-up2 giving a high max temp or turning the unit completely off and there you go. There will be also times where you're diagnosing a problem and you can program the unit to work at something very low like 80C to assure that the engine won't overheat.

For those that think its overkill... well, don't use the multitemp feature. If you're one of those guys that doesn't even like mixture control... well fine, just use the governor. One day you might want to use it and will have everything ready and installed

I'm very happy with mine and I'm not giving it back

Tony

PS - I'm selling a CS if anyone is interested

This sounds like it will be a truly great product! I own 2 MG's and love them, and will replace both with one of these.

I wonder if the new firmware uses both the RPM and Temperature data together in determining the optimum settings for both throttle and needle, or do they behave completely independent of each other?

My only concern is the use of cylinder head temperature, like the CarbSmart. CHT is just not the most efficient method of determining fuel mixture. Exhaust gas temperature is the industry standard for properly setting fuel mix in turbines and full scale engines. If Aerospire had gone with a thermocouple that fits in a standard muffler pressure tap, I think they'd really have it licked.

for now they are independent. A future neat feature would be that in case of sensor failure or engine overheating, the governor part would reduce headspeed to inform the pilot that something was going on but after debating this, many would have found it too risky (especially if you had a sensor failure while hovering inverted two inches above ground).

regarding the mixture control, everything is done through the LCD. In case of multi temps you can use your idle-ups to change the temps but you have to program them first in the unit.

I hope that helps

Looks like a great product. I have been considering this type of equipment for a bit now and it looks like this will be a good choice. I sure do like the idea of using Exh. Gas for the sensor, just seems like the Exh gas would be a much better and faster indicator of mixture. Well mabey next time............

I don't have enough units on this first batch to offer a discounted "trade-in" option but I will consider it for the next larger batch

Bob, when will the second batch be available? Also if you do consider a upgrade option would do you think the price would be?

Yes and yes. Check our support page for details. Tony is right, it is the servo that you need to worry about and regulating it's voltage.

you need a temp sensor mounted on the engine's head. I expect Aerospire to ship the unit with at least a sensor but in any case you can also use the carbsmart one if you happen to have one at hand. Its 100% compatible with the Multigov Pro.

About the throttle arm, you can get the CSM one, The YS91SR remote needle (if you have a YS) or one that OS makes. The advantages of the latter two is that both are slipping needles so you can adjust the center mixture needle without the need of using any tools or remove the linkage.

You will need a tam sensor. It is not included. You can use a Carbsmart or buy one of the Multi govs. It is $6. Here is what comes with it.
DIY Temperature Sensor Kit
Contains Sensor Wire (1), Heat Shrink Tubing (1), Thermistors (4)

thanks both for answering

i'm planning to use Eagle Tree Elogger temperature sensor, because i'll record RPM and temperature for the first fly, to adjust all parameters

don't really see how the DIY kit looks, because of the picture's size
and don't understand why there is 4 thermitors include

Because from CSM experience, they break if you sneeze so I think its more than fair that Aerospire includes 4, especially because their price is ridiculous and CSM is making a fortune selling 20 cent thermistors at $10.

I also use a eagletree sensor together with the multigov pro.

One hint for you, put the sensors on the head and cut the cables at 1 inch and crimp some male connectors. That way you only have to unplug the sensors when you want to drop the engine. Check out the bottom of this pic
