I have been flying for awhile. I can hover in all oriantations upright, flip, roll and hover inverted nose in pretty good. I was out the other day and was flying around fff and pulled up to do a simple stall turn that I do all the time, when I hit left rubber the piro rate was so fast it did like 3 or 4 360's in the blink of an eye. I dont know if was that I turned the gain down on the 401 pretty low but that was the fastest piro I have ever seen, it was just a blur so fast that I didnt even move till it hit me in the head then I thought wow that sucked hows the heli it was smashed so then I packed up and went to get 22 stitches. The moral of this story is that everyone can be a dumb a$$(like me) at some time so be careful they hurt. All joking aside I was very lucky that it was not worse if the cut was on my neck it would have been very bad. Sorry for the bad picks I only had my phone I will be sure to get better pics next time.
Dave
Happy flying
P.S. they laugh at you at the ER also so be ready for it

holy crap that's quite a slice. Not to sound ogreish or anything, but how deep was the cut? It looks really extreme? Thanks for sharing your experience as a reminder.

That's gonna leave a mark. Lucky it wasn't your neck or eye though. Glad to hear/see you're going to be ok.

Foo was a RR member a while back, haven't heard from him in a few years, but he used to fly in his back yard behind a 4'x6' plexiglass sheet for protection, because he was in a confined space, and didn't trust his contol. The plexiglass sheet was hence named a Foo shield.

Glad you made it! I was hit with my trex 450 when I was setting up pitch, got a glitch and the heli started spooling up. It wasn't even near 3000rpms but it made quite an impression on my arm; nasty scars.

Hope everyone learns from your story .
