My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I just got a Stinger 50 and i see that the flybar is below the mains
and the raptor 50 flybar is above the main blades
Is there any reason?
I love the way my Raptor 50 flies and the Gohbee stinger 50 looks just like my Raptor other than the head.
Has anyone flown both that could give me some input on the stinger 50 vs the Raptor 50?
I am not looking to do 3d with the stinger it is going to have a scale body on it soon i hope..maybe a Airwolf or Bell 222

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I have had both helis and flown both, they are very much the same helis, as you said the fly bars are different the stinger being underslung verses the rapto being on the top . i like the under slung helis best but dont get me wrong the raptor flew great as well, i did have a stinger 30 in a ranger fuse for a short time and it flew very well.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I do still own both a Stinger 50 and a raptor 50SE.
You are correct that below the swash both helies are the same, in fact the parts are all interchangeable.
Above the swash they are completely different and nothing more than a few screws and bearings are interchangeable.
The Stinger is noticeably more steady in a hover and tracks better in fast flight. Both helies can be set up to rock and roll in 3D, I feel that the Stinger still has a very slight advantage in 3D quickness.

Before the raptor lovers jump all over me, I am NOT saying that there is anything bad with the raptor.

I know that many will take the word of a field rep with more than just a grain of salt. I flew raptors since they first came onto the market and still have one and still fly it once in a while. I bought a Stinger at IRCHA one year and really liked the way it flew and then had to bug David for a very long time to become a Gohbee Field rep.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I hear that Gohbee is no longer doing the fiberglass canopy
I got a Gohbee kit and it came with this piece of S&*( clear canopy
It did not even have the rubber grommet and lower canopy latch
also the right frame did not have the holes drilled for the skids...easy fix but should not have had to fix it so has anyone else have the same problems?
I like the helicopter and hope to have it fling soon guess I am going to use this canopy till I get around to putting a Bell 222 or Airwolf body on it once I buy one (looking to buy a used cheap one)

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I have both the Lexan and glass canopys.
I prefer the Lexan one.
Lexan is easier to paint, and very tough, that is why RC car bodies are made from it. RC cars are constantly running into things.
The Lexan body is also better aerodynamically than the glass.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		....we left the canopy clip out???...I guess I goofed. We just now started shipping with the new Polycarb canopies in the Stinger kits...so this is an oversight on my part. (The Phazor kits do not require the canopy clip). Send me a PM with your address or call me Monday, and I can get one on the way to you. BTW, the canopy clip comes with the grommets.

I am not one for a lexan body
I am sure people like them but I do not do 3D stuff so the light weight stuff does not bother me
I like to just fly and make the heli look like a real heli
I am looking at ordering a airwolf body for the Stinger 50
I like the looks of the heli just not much for the body

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I have both the Raptor 50 (my first bird) and a Stinger 50 (my 5th bird) and I do not notice the diffrence in the way the preform when set up with all the same servos, but I like the over slung fly bar on the raptor when I do Mast Tapping. Its better to scrach up $15 paddles vs $100 CF Blades if your not quite level.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I have a Rappy.30 that has been REAL GOOD to me learing to fly. I am upgrading it to a .50 and have been using Gohbee kits and parts. I have been real imperssed with the quality and great service! My question is the Rappys flying style suits me to a T, and I really dont want to change it any, however I would like to install the Stinger all metal head, will it fly about the same?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		You will find that there are some differences in flight characteristics between the Stinger head and the Raptor head.

The Stinger is a little more stable in fast level flight, where the Raptor has a little more of a tendency to to be pitch sensitive in fast level flight. If both helies are set up with the same blades and paddles the 3D performance is very similar. It is also much easier to boom strike a Raptor in the air.

I understand that you will take my word with a grain of salt since I am a Gohbee field rep, I was flying Raptor since it came out, and was flying and liked the Stinger long before I became a rep.
I still own both raptor and stinger 50's and most of my fuel goes thru the Stinger 50 because it just is nicer to fly.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Hey, thanks for the reply! The only crash I have had with the Rappy was a rough landing and you are right-a boom strike. Taking into account that the Stinger head is less prone, seems reason enough to go that way. The swashes are compatible right?

The Gohbee swash has slightly more cyclic capability for latter on when you start 3D flying.
Unless your set up for max possible cyclic you won't notice the difference.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Has anyone had a issue with the plastic tail blades on the stinger 90? I was hovering around and all of a sudden the blades just broke apart at the root. Every one reading this knows what happend next so i wont go into details,lets just say it was a hand full for someone not experinced. It wasnt very high and I some how got it down without to-much damage. I called Gohbee and told them what happened and all they would do was give me a disscount on some carbon tail blades. Seems to me they should have at least offered to replace the the busted parts as well. Now that I got that bitch out I would like to say I do like the way the stinger90 flys, its very stable in the hover and is easy to fly. I started with a T-Rex the a raptor30 -and 60. The Stinger90 flys better then the raptor60.
