My Posts This: Topic Forum | Chris,
The most important thing, even though he could have said it with more tact, is that the head, and even tail systems, used in the bat series are the same as all the older Quicks. Rip is very correct in his thoughts, but not in his communication.
Just changing frames, control geometry, and tank CG (Even the tank is the same older design, helps a little, but not performance beyond what is already there. 22 years in the business, I commend Irwin, always have for that, but that does not mean experience in all matters of modern RC heli flight for the last 8 years, and what is needed in todays flight envelope, FAI/F3C or 3D. So enough with the 22 years stuff. I love Irwin and you guys with all my heart, but enough with that.
The tail and head of the older Quick, and the new Bats, are more than capable of hard 3D, they just need some small changes and damper re-thought. The new frames and some design changes that were made are great changes, but even I made some comments and got yelled at. They are a step in the right direction, no doubt, but I would have also expected a tail rotor link and design change (the new tail control rod design is VERY good BTW) and the head, I know about 5 easy changes QWW could have made and made it scream! Trust me, I have been doing this for 15 years, maybe I know a little too.
My Nitro does it all, and has held together (Although I wish the main gear and engine pinion would mesh like the tail and tail gear do). It runs fine, but, Can you guys give me a delrin machined gear please??? I will call tomorrow! LOL!
The long awaited 3D vid of my flying 3D is complete, And I also added an FAI/F3C part to it, then I reveal a very big (OMG) when I explain what is the heart of this bird, All I did, and what you can do to make it do what I made it do.
Will be posted here this Sunday. BTW, is my 70 Bat kit completed now? Like I told Irwin in my last phone call, was that all I need is everything but the head and tail system, (I am keeping the head and tail I worked so hard on, so Boom on out is good for me, but want to change it to a carbon boom. He knows this).
Let me know Irwin, Chris.
