I've decided to build another 450 size heli and wanted to get some people's opinion. I can either get the Beam, or build a t rex from spare parts and upgrade the head and tail. I used to have a t rex with a Dragonus head and tail and it was the smoothest flying 450 that I had flown. I really liked the adjustable mix on the Dragonus head.

So my question is: How does the Beam fly? Looking at the head design, it's the same style head as a T rex. I'm looking for a smooth flying heli for sport flying with agility for when I want to do 3D. I was also looking at the Kasama head that would be another possible upgrade for the T rex should I go that route. I think the Kasama has adjustable mix rates as well.

I know this is the Beam section and people are most likely going to be biased, but if anyone can shed some helpful light on this subject, I would appreciate it.

I have been a Trex 450 flyer for over 2 years and had good luck with them. I was happy until I saw the BeamE4 at a recent funfly.. I was impressed by the quality of the parts, so much so, I had to have one.. I have since found out the build is a pleasure. I can see no need for upgrade parts.. It flies quiet and seems more agile with stock settings.. I feel that it is the next level of upgrade for the 450 sized helis..

I have flown both of the helis. The Beam is Far better than a T-rex. One of the biggest things is the tail belt system. It is much more efficient and quiet than the t-rex. The belts don't wear out for some reason also, which is great! Once you get your beam, you will be amazed by the quality of the parts, it seems all precision made. Everything fit together nicely when I built it and there still isn't one problem I have encountered from my 30-40 flights with the Beam So far.

My Vote is for the Beam

I have a trex SE for sale now - While you are building your new beam you start to realize how much better it is. It really hits home when you fly it. No funny noises, no wines, nothing except the whosh of the blades. After people watch me fly my beam - they start asking why their heli is making funny noises...its pretty funny really...This is be best 450 yet...you will NOT be disapointed. I do not like electrics...and I am very happy with it.

I ever had a Mini Titan before my Beam.
As I'm learning I crashed almost each fly.
After repairing, the Mini Titan never can set as original stable condition. However Beam is so stable after repair.
Beam comes with CNC metals and carbon frames, end of the day the repairing cost was as low as Mini Titan.

Fly high with dreams !!
