My Posts This: Topic Forum | VNR3D: first try todayAfter checking blade tracking, swash level, cg balancing, I went outside for my first ever attempt this morning. I have almost followed all tips from Mr. Paul, except I didn't tilt swash lightly to the right, to correct the tendency to slide left.
Here is my performance: Heli took off, and at about 3 feet, I've got back 6 feet, then I've panicked, and shut off throttle all way down. Result: Heli: 0 Concrete floor:1. Blades smashed, 1 ball link and a rod snapped.
When I began to fly with my Ocean Rescue, I have crashed a lot of times. My kids gave my copter a nickname (the same I use here: BRISETOUT) which means "Slam in everything" Since I no longer crash with it, even if I go outside with it, I've wanted to have a new challenge with the Ranger.
My impressions: I was told cp were lot more difficult than fp ---> TRUE I will have to move servo rods to inner holes for sure. It's like to fly with a WWI plane and then climb into a F18 cockpit. Really marvelous little piece of technology. Very touchy to fly, when you're a newbie, but I will fly it, no matter the time it will take to.
Sent my employee to the local shop to get replacement parts. By the way , made him buy an Ocean Rescue like I have since January, for himself. I gave him the bug for rc helis. He seems very good. I let him fly it in the shop, and am very impressed by him. If he continues to evolve at this speed, I will let him try the 3d this summer... He will probably get better than me, one day...
This afternoon, I have repaired the NR3D. I also tried to replace cristals. My Ocean rescue was 72.830, and so is my Ranger. I've tried to put 72.870 cristals, and gyro doesn't initiate. When I put back my 830, it works. I didn't inverted tx and rx. Is it possible to have bad cristals? |
