Thanks. I did buy the software but my lap top did not have a coms port. I have just managed to find a USB coms port adapter and got the software to work. It all makes a bit more sense now. The gray wire can be used for controlling rate/HH as the mode changes on the screen when I flick the switch. So far so good. One thing I am not sure about if I change the travel settings under mixer nothing happens at the servo. Do I have to write this to the Helicommand before it will show the changes? With any luck I will test fly this tomorrow.

There I was inverted nothing on the clock but the makers name and only the joystick in my hand

Yes, all changes have to 'write' in the software for it to take effect.

Noobs,

You rock! Thanks for the crazy detailed post. I'm using a 9CHP but it was good enough for me to be able to apply it all to my radio. Thanks for the help. Not sure I could have set this crazy thing up without your post - at least not as quickly. Just test flew it a few minutes ago and it worked as advertised! Now I have to go to work on fighting some right drift, but other than that it works well.

One question for you or anyone else who wants to chime in...

I've assigned the gain control to the left slider on my 9CHP. The way I have it is that when the slider is centered, the HC is off, when the slider is down it's in position mode with increasing gain as I slide down further, and in horiz mode with increasing gain as the slider goes up... is this how others are doing it? The only downside is finding center while flying... it does beep in the middle, but I just want to see how others are setting this up.

Thanks!
Tim

One extra question, even though the posts are more than detailed...

Can i use DX7 woth helicommand 3d and a ds760 gyro?
I believe i will have left only one aux2 channel for the hc.

Will it work ok, or i should go on a jrx9303?

Thank you, noobs for your answer.

I read the posts above.
i will get a x9303 in the future, for now i will use the dx7!I see Avalon has the dx7, but will use the built in gyro. So he is exactly at 7 channels.

If i have a spartan gyro, it will occupate the rudder and gear channels.

So that leaves one channel for pilot or autotrim. I think , read the helicommand manual, i will not apply the autotrim plug. Just the pilot!

Well since i started this thread back in 4-12-2008 i'm back.
Never gave up.
If it wasn't for Noobs i would be dead in the water.
Well after killing a 9254 tail servo and a JR DS3421 i now have made the conection to the computer with it working.
I still have to set up pitch and such.

Under Daignose tab i notice the purple bar goes from the center to the nose right when i move my stick to the left.
Hmmmm seams backwards but looks to be correct on heli.

I am going to get it done no mater how long it takes or what it costs.
Greg
