AR7000 receiver quick connect update feature

I just got mine AR7000 back from Horizon Hobbby with the new "Quick Connect" update. When I was trying out the new feature, I noticed the LEDs on both the main receiver and sub receiver were flashing. Is this how it suppose to work after a power failure? Pretty cool since I would know something had happen to the receiver during flight.

Surely that means you need to bind the TX & RX?

Seems to me that ALL heli's beat the air into submission

I have bind the rx. It starts out with solid led. When I simulate a power failure and the receiver reconnects, the LEDs start to flash.

They flash so you know there was a problem with the supply voltage during the flight. Ie dropped below 3.5volts

Yeah, I like that new feature. I takes the guesswork out as to whether you had a low voltage flight or not because it reconnects pretty quick and you may not actually feel it in flight. I really like the product announcements/improvements they are doing. Spektrum seems to be moving forwards all the time

Yes the flashing LED is an important upgrade!

Does anyone know if it is possible to have the quick connect feature but without the flashing LED feature?

I just recently purchased a spektrum Tx Module/AR7000 combo and the Rx appears to be quick connect when I cycle the Rx power but the LED doesn't flash.

I'm wondering if I should send it in or not.

I think it will only flash if you have a low voltage situation.

PilotDaz:
At least one person has reported that he had receivers that had quick re-connect without the flashing feature. That may be right, but it takes some care to be sure that you have quick re-connect by just noting the re-connect time. Even the receivers that don't have quick re-connect will, under certain circumstances, re-connect quickly. If you always get a quick re-connect even when other Spectrum TX's are active, then you probably have quick re-connect.

Also, I measured the re-connect time for receivers that I had sent in for update, and found 75 msec from power re-application to servo signal re-establishment. The re-connect is quite quick!

The flashing LED is a very nice feature for trouble shooting a problem and may be worth getting even if you think you have quick re-connect.

Good info Rob, thanks! I've only done the test at home, not around other spektrums. So maybe I don't have the feature. I wish they had a firmware version sticker or a UPC number to denote this.
