nah we just don't have anything better to do in the winter.

you can go outside and freeze your a$$ off or stay inside and tinker or re-invent stuff.

as for flying heli's in the winter only the highly addicted do it.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		One more observation everyone. I noticed that one of the ball links screwed on to the pitch control rod (on the head) is not very tight. It ofcource isn't enough that i could pull them apart. Just wonder if i just maybe put a dab of CA in the threads to keep it from moving back and forth.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I would like to refrase my last statement since i got no reply

Imagen removing the pitch control arm from the swash. The ball link at the bottom screws on very frimly. However, the top one screws on very loosley. It is not enough that i could pull them apart however it is enough that the ball link can rotate (as far as the ball on the head will let it) because the threads arn't tight enough. Is this cause for concern.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Anytime that the links can easily be turned is an indication for you to change it as soon as you can. Although it is more difficult to strip the link off, any play gets it that step closer to a crash.

Change it if youy can. Otherwise you could try and CA the link or you could use a small amount of plummer's tape.

E.g. One will get the same length if on has 25 turns in one and 5 in the other for a total of 30. But the one with 5 turns only inside the link will be very easy to turn (and easily stripped and pulled out) while the one with 25 turns inside the other link will be much harder to turn and impossible to strip and pull out.

If the total turns for both links is 30, then it is always best to get them both in the same amount (e.g. 15 and 15) or as close to it as possible (e.g. 13/17 or 14/16)

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		They are both in quite a bit. I tried many different links all with the same result. I guese i could be the rod. Does the Raven share the same pitch rods as the hawk pro. I still have alot of parts from that crashed bird.


EDIT: I answered my own question. Took the box of the pro down from the shelf and took out a linkage. Turned out be the same rod length. Attached them up and it is tight. The threads on the other rod were not that defined and almost smooth. Weird. Anyway, i am no longer using it.

I already sent an email to Futaba about this servos s9350, asking that if i can use in a nitro helicopter .50 and they answered that this servos are not designed for helicopters and i shouldn´t use for that.
So my question is: What could happen if put them in the raven?
Because this servos are expensive ($99.00 each one), and they have a lot of torque and speed.
I wouldn´t like to spend in another expensives servos.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Centering of the servo and how much vibration it can take comes into play. That being said, I use 9451's on my predator as well as many other people use them in their 50's-90's with no issues even though it is designed as a car servo. If you search around 9351's are also used by many in their heli's. I don't know if the 9350's are the same as a 9351, but I assume they are.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I have 2 gallons through my Raven. Man i am in love with this bird. I really hit the sweet spot today with a pitch curve of +-13.5, %30 coolpower and the needle about 1.25 turns out. The things has great power and is hard to bog down. The throttle curve came in at 100-90-55-90-100 believe it or not. Really a GREAT setup. Having a blast. So far the only problems i have had are the boom suport screws comming loose a couple of times and running out of gas .

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Be sure to use some CA glue (NOT LOCKTITE - locktite deteriorates any plastic) on the screws that attach the boom struts to the plastic horizontal fins support.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Your setup sounds almost identicle to my magic setup.And the ca on the boom support scews works ok. But i found the cnc boom clamp with red locktite solves it for good.I would sugest aluminum servo arms .I have had a couple crashes from the plastic arms snapping in mid flight. At the least use the heavy duty plastic arms.
