WTH would you want to hover it in rate mode in the first place?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Well, without a tail rod guide, it flexes just enough for the tail to rock around very unstable in rate mode, making it very hard to find the right spot to mechanically set the tail.

Every other 450 uses some type of guide for the tail servo rod, so its very unusual for the Beam to not use one. If I had the 401 gyro, I probably wouldn't need to worry about it as much, but those who own a Logictech or the new Hitec know how crucial setting up this gyro in rate mode mechanically is for having a killer tail hold. Or else, the tail will bounce around, or had a bad delay effect.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I have the Logictec 2100t / Futaba 9650 combination and my tail is solid in rate mode hover with a very slight but consistent drift which I can change direction with a half turn of the link. I do not have any tailrod support and the tail is not hunting. I did howerver opt for the microheli alum tail servo mount .

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Nice scoyle. I figured out I had to adjust the sensativity in rate mode to fix the probem. Not sure if the fin holder helped much, but at least mine says still in rate mode, and has no drift now.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		This is interesting on the tail guide issue for me. I use the Solid-G and do not have this problem. It Locks Solid and holds.. From what I've seen on heli's this size, this one has a very stiff rod with no play. One thing to watch for though is the screw ends where the links attach. If they are not locktited properly they will twist when you turn the link to line it up with the ball. Then it's a little loose but not bad. Just make sure those little screws are tight in the metal ends. IMHO.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Flew it yesterday. Flies killer. It felt alot smoother and lighter than when I had a Trex 450. It also did 3D very easily. It definetily made my old Trex 450 feel like a Blade CP!!!

As for the Beam, I like it alot so far. Flew and felt awesome for my first time taking it up. Only issue I had was that is so dang small, and harder to see!!!! But, I still love it alot!!

I am, averaging about 3200rpm's (with a TREX, not a Beam) at 100%
Getting some short ass flights on it though, considering dropping it to 12T.

which is another question, how many teeth are on the Beam's main gear?
