Hello Guys,

the Robbe Forum seems quite less active than others, so I decided to post pictures of my Nova Cuatro Assembly here.

No big problems until now, some parts were mixed up in the plastic bags and one thrust bearing needs to be replaced.

I hope you like the pics and I'll keep you posted.

Greetings from hot Bangkok

Christian

Hammer is only used for hitting your fingers if you forget to push the tail boom all the way in before the first flight. This is what almost happened to me when I did my first Cuatro. Luckily I noticed that before the first flight.

Anyway very nice project Chris. I have two Cuatro gassers and love them. I'm also converting my third one to electric.

Remember to lube the tail gears well and you'll be fine with you helicopter.

Regards

It's a TRM modified G231-SLH. The fan shroud gave me some headache, it would only fit nicely if there is a 1cm gap between the 2 halfes. I closed the gap with Scotch silver duct tape and used 2 layers (non sticky side down) around 2cm wide in the center. Time will tell if that works.

Here I was still using some black tape which was easily removable. I wanted to get the needed size of the pieces first before attaching that super sticky duct tape.

Actually turned me onto gassers as he had a tuned pipe on it and that thing was ballistic! Flew hard and fast! Looks like its coming along good, keep up the good work!

Nice to see you here on Robbe forum as well Raja. I've been reading your thoughts on gasser forum for long time.

I fly two Cuatro gassers now and I'm very happy with them. I did put one of my models on diet and managed to bring down weight under 6kg so it is FAI legal now as FAI flying is my thing.

Hi - I completed my Wren MW54 powered Cuatro at the beginning of the year using a David Owens conversion. I too had quality issues - especially the clutch bell and the seesaw which wouldn't fit through the head block. The clutch bell caused belt rub issues on the lower rear sideframes. If you need more detail - give me a shout

Alternative Ratio/Millenium.

Could anyone tell what gear ratio the Nova gasser uses.I have converted my Millenium 90 to gasser and running at 8.1 with a 23cc Zenoah.Any thoughts on head speed ,i am using 710mm carbon blades,Gv1 gov.Any thoughts on fine tuning this conversion would be much appreciated as i would imagine the models are very similar as i was inspired by the cuatro build here.

The nova cuatro with stock gasser conversion uses 1:8.9 (with 23 teeth clutchbell). When using the 27 teeth cluth bell it would be 1:7.6.

You should really get lower gear ratio for your Millennium if you're using regular size blades like 710mm to make it perform best.

Running e.g. 1850 rpm's on the head makes your engine to rev up too much with your current gear ratio. There are several pinions available for Millennium clutch bell and I would get at least 16T or bigger.

I run 1650 on the heads of my Cuatro gassers. I use 26T and 27T clutch bells on my machines. Toxic modified engines are running very well at high rpm's as well like 13500.

Robbe ratio

Just fitted a new G230 Puh and a 16 tooth gear.I think this should give me about 7.5.1.will maybe go to a 17 tooth if need be.

Manifold for nova

Hello, I'm from Italy, I see in your photos that you have a red (seems metallic) manifold for your zenoah. Where have you find it? I would change the plastic original. Thanks for your kindness
