"No more strap for me.. I started with one, once it snagged my throttle once.. I never will again"

Same happened to me never again. Not safe.

If you are holding the transmitter with your thumb on the throttle gimbal holding the stick securely it cant happen.

Err guys, I think you have totally missed the point of this thread... the safety issue is the loose strap getting caught in rotor blades, not the strap causing sticks to be moved in error....

Now thats actually funny

If thats your problem, then you shouldn't be flying so close.

Well, you should be back very far when you spin up the blades, and check everything first. Also when spinning down... I guess some people could be in a rush to slow there blades down and get it caught up? Really don't know...

Hey that's why you should auto it down (it helps haha) .

If it's while flying... Well...........!!!!!!!!!!!!

Safety first new guys! Seen my fair share of new members of the hobby who think they won't do any damage...

It started out that way but then this was mentioned:

Quote
One guy grabbed the tx with one hand the strap with other hand to put over there head(again, while connected to tx) and the thottle hold on heli was taken off in that movement by the strap, then whappow!!. Hot start and scared the crap out of everyone.

The other guy with the same incident but with a plank just this weekend. Plank don't have throttle hold and the throttle stick was pulled full power by the strap (again, while connected to tx), then Shazzam!!! was cut on the arm in the process......

I have to agree with what has been said. If you unhook and secure your neck strap or remove it from your neck it cant get caught in rotor blades. Secondly, if you pay attention to how you handle your Tx you will not "accidentally" bump switches or throttles. It is a dangerous hobby if not treated right. We all know that, yet when we see others doing dumb stuff how many correct them? I know I wouldn't want to get hit with someone else's rotor blade because of a dumb mistake, and I know I would feel pretty bad if I did that to someone else.

Haven't you ever seen someone leaning over the heli on the ground to put their hand on the top button to stop the blades quicker?

I can't see how someone could lean THAT FAR OVER a rotating disc low enough to get a neck strap entangled in it. It doesn't sound possible.

When I'm going to slow my disc, and what everyone else I know does, has their strap still connected to their radio while maintaining positive control of the TX with one hand.

Not a big deal.
