yes it does get to a point where you think its time to stop with the detail,im going to give it a rest for a while now sometimes you need to get away from it seems to be all im doing,but like you say the weather is so bad iv not had a chance to do any flying,im back at work friday and the weekend so you can bet the weather will be better then (LOL)

hi guys

been scratch building some scale parts ie the sky shout system wich is a large box shape on the side of the heli,i made this from balsa and will mould it and cast it in resin

also been doing the down link,this is made from wood and ali the wood parts will be cast in resin and the detail added

finished scratch building the downlink for my heli just got to add the wiring and attach to the entry step when the model is finished,now the flying season is finished not that we had a good one i will spend the winter just adding scale detail ect the challenge will me making the FLIR camera but iv got all winter to think it out,also scratch build the antenas

Hey Paul999,
Great looking 145!!! god i would love to have one of those especially one like yours with so much detail. Anyway i was just wondering what the piece of equipment is that you have in your photo attached to the skid both of a full scale and your 145 that your calling the "Downlink". What exactly is it and what does it do? Does it actually rotate down? thanks, it looks interesting and i am just curious.

yes you are right the end part rotates down when in flight,as far as i know it sends the video image that the crew are viewing inside the helicopter to the police control room so they can watch whats going on i.e. in a chase ect i guess its more like a video link
