Driving home a couple days ago, bout 9:45 at night and I see something small (looked like a rock) fly in front of my truck. Next thing I know, I hear three loud bangs on the side of my truck. Slammed on the breaks and stuck my head out the window, I had been hit by three or four paintballs.

It was a pretty quiet area, mostly nice houses. I had just passed two white trash trailers. You know, the ones with all the trash in the yard and at least three broken down camaros out back. Obviously, a couple of them were hiding in the ditch shooting cars that went by.

I couldn't find anyone when I turned around, probably because they were hiding amongst the trash piles. Called the cops anyway because it was obvious where they came from. There were paintballs splattered all over the street in front of one of the houses, as well as on the street signs and street light. Cop finally shows up about 40 minutes later. First thing he does is check my license and insurance to make sure I wasn't breaking the law (pisses me off) and then he asks me "Well, what would you like me to do?" after I explained what had happened.

I told him I expected that he had a duty to go over to that house and find out who was shooting the cars, in the interest of safety of course. An old lady may not have reacted so well and might have ended up in the ditch with a heart attack.

I played paintball for years and would never think of shooting a car, this happened in rural GA, I'd be afraid of getting shot for that.

3 small dents in the side of my truck now, these kids had to be pretty close for that.

Picked up the police report and the officers info says he was unable to locate the offending individuals....what a joke as you could tell exactly where the paintballs had been coming from.

Most cops won't take the initiative to help solve problems. They're waiting for that big day with the high speed chase opportunity. Responding to a paint gun ain't all that exciting to them.

Next time, dial 911 and yell, "Shots fired!" See how quickly they'll show up! At least you were still honest with the facts .

Better yet, yell...."Free Donuts!" They'd show up quicker.

As for the paint gun shooters, I'd spare them but would hunt them down with a pellet gun as opposed to a .45. [Tip how to find your paint ball shooter]...look for a house with a rusted oven in the front yard.

Maybe you should pay the two trailers a visit and try to talk to the parents.

Children are products of their parents. If the kids are screwed up, one would tend to think that the parents are not that far off as well.

Don't get mad. Get even. You need an M1A-M Crew Served Mortar paint marker system. Just mount it to the top of your truck.

That may be true, but I would guess that kids would get a pretty good beating.

Just go let the air out of the tires of their houses.

Or you could just bash them on their blogs....

When I was young and stupid, A couple friends and I hid in the field next door and shot a couple cars that went by. The last one stopped and was a cop. He looked around for a few minutes than left. Didn't really care. I'll tell you what, if any of them had gone to see my parents they would have made real sure it didn't happen again. Might be a good place to start.

we have a Pb feild in our yard, and have played a fair bit, those paintballs can get going extremely fast with the right gun and setup, we usually tone them down alot when we play.. still enough for the adreniline, but not like scary fast.. LOL

our driveway runs along paralell to the feild, and we have to watch out if someone is comming up it..

we have put a dent in a car before... not me, but in our feild

Some kids need positive parenting, others need a good woopin! Just like the 14 year old kid whom gone to school and shot another kid in the back of the head. This 14 year old shooter needed a good woopin way before the age of 14. Parents and our system are too soft these days! Sometimes ya got to say f#ck the positive reinforcement $hit! However, if you start them young with the positive reinforcement $hit, ya got a better chance with your kids fearing 'the system' with positive results. 'The system' is alternatively called, 'Values'.

I've had cops harass me for less in the past so I figured for sure they would have rolled up in 5 cars with blue lights flashin' especially in the area where it happened.

Parents are definitely no better at that house, so I don't think talking to them would get anywhere.

My Father used to break out the leather belt when we did something like that as kids, when you heard it coming off the jeans you knew you were going to get it...

Love the paintball mortar cannon, looks like the gun bruce willis used in that movie The Jackal!

I thought about picking up some of those Tippman Sqaudbuster paintball grenades and lobbing them in their yard as I go by but truthfully, it would probably improve their property value.

Dick, criminals are not in the NRA the same way that criminals don't obey the law in your country by continuing to own and posess firearms while those that obey the law do not.

Red, why don't you figure out a way to burn those trailers down? You would get rid of the paintball problem, improve the local property values, and maybe clean up the gene pool all at once.

dick, I'll see if I can't snap a photo of their trailer the next time I go by, it ought to be a great photo. Across the street from these two trailers, some rich guy has a nice house on the hill with a lake in the front yard. Must be 200 goats running around. I'll see if I can't get a shot of that too, that guys property value is definitely in the toilet. I'm ashamed to share a country with these scumbags...hoping a tornado comes along pretty soon.

Jeff, I'd definitely like to see their trailer burn down but chances are the cops wouldn't just ask them what they would like to see done after I walk away with an empty can of gas and a handful of matches. Maybe if I start flicking cigarette butts at their yard as I drive by, it will catch one of the many cars that leak fuel/oil on fire.

I like the suggestion to call 911, "shots fired" to get a faster reaction from the police.
A teenage girl had her eye out out by some teen thugs who were doing drive by shootings with paint guns. Permanently bind in one eye now. They did catch the punks.

Paintball guns are definitely not toys...

I've got a dumbass for a cousin up north who was playing around with a couple friends in the back yard. He took one in the eye and lost most of the vision in that eye...

I'm sure the "shots fired" line would get them there in a timely fashion, doubt the cops would be so understanding when they show up and you say "from a paintball gun"
