The new rex 500 is using 2 3S packs with good results too... On rcgroup there is a huge thread on the esmart 600E, The starter of the thread got his flying for under $500 I think it was... He ended up spending more to upgrade stuff so he was pushing $700 or so all up.. I read over 70 pages of it before I bought a 600 size heli. That might be a good place to start for you too... The more info you can gather the better your knowledge base will be to make your decission.. I am not trying to discourage you to jump on the esmart rather to prepare you for the expense you might incure when you jump in to the 600 class heli....

So you think parts will be astronomically more on a 600 class Heli compared to the Jr Voyager E i have now?
i almost wonder is it worth it......i still debating wether i should just keep my Voyager and just fix it and move on than buying another Heli and preparing myself for a financial fall...i just love the looks of the larger Helis...

DAMMM,,,,DECISIONS.....ha ha

Crash cost are part of the hobby and I'm just suggesting to get all of your prices up front so you jump in knowing what it's really going to cost.... Parts for the esmart or rex are cheap but the electronics and batteries get very expensive fast.... If you think you would be happy with a off brand 3700mah battery for flite that will save you alot of money. I prefer the 5000mah air thunder packs and I am getting 8-9 minutes a pack.... I also bought good futaba servos so I don't have problems with them. a good gyro Logitec 2100T and a Futaba digital tail servo... My 600E used was 300 with ESC motor BEC and battery and CF blades
3 batteries 350. each
charger/balancer Hyperion 610I 175 shipped with adapters
servos 150 cyclic
tail servo 75
gyro 100 used
Yes you can buy cheaper electronic batteries and servos, so it's time to shop around... In the classifieds I have seen a couple of 600E for 700-800 with batteries so that is an option too... There isn't alot of esmart 600 used for sale that I have seen yet...
Good luck on you new heli project......

I have a question for the Professors of the bunch

Using Digital servo's pulls more power from batts, correct?

If you are not a 3D pilot is a nes517 or a Hitec 322hd not fast enough for toatin around the feild? EXcept for the gyro.

Does using a BEC make your mtr battery last longer? Can't you just plug a batt into the reciever?

These are just a few questions I had. Looks like you all are answering everything. Nice teamwork. Steve

Esky E-Smart

Looks like a LOT of comments but none of them are from esky Esmart owners....well..let me step in for a minute...

I have an Esky Esmart and LOVE IT!...way better flying machine than the trex 600 in my opinion..I have owned 3 or 4 trex 600's and even gone 10s on a couple...I currently have 4 vbar machines ..so I know what power and peformance is...that's not an issue...

I am no Alan Szabo but I do my fair share of stick banging and 3d flying...and let me tell you something...this esky can handle it no prob..

They sell these for 200$ shipped at Helidirect.com

This has to be one of the BEST Kept secrets out there...this is a KILLER little heli with a couple of necessary mods...

The necessary mods are to get a metal swashplate(20$) and a metal washout unit(22$)
and this thing would fly circles aroung a 6s powered trex 600..

I fly mine on 5s and it still outperforms any of the 6s trex' 600's I've had..

For 200$ you get the entire kit plus a motor that is basically a century 600 plus motor..Killer deal!

If you are not into hard flying 3d then any half way decent cheap servos would be fine..You can get a used set of full sized servos VERY cheap these days..and get yourself a decent Gyro...BUT...here's what I would recommend for the rest..

Get an Align 3a Bec with a 2s lipo for rx power...and then use a cheap ALign 75A esc from a trex 600 and it'll be a rock solid performer for a LONG time...the Align 75 is what I have been using in mine for a LONG time and is perfect for this machine...I myself fly 550's and a 5s 3700mah pack and I get about 5 1/2 minutes of hard 3d flying..I currently use my esky as my night flyer..

look into my gallery for a couple of quick vids I have of some short night flights..nothing great but you'll get the idea..
http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/24404/

here's a couple pics of my setup also..

I can't see being into this thing for more than 700$ TOPS by the time you are flying...of course that doesn't count a radio and charger...add a cheap astro charger(85$)and a rx and you are still flying for CHEAP..and it will outfly helis that cost twice as much..

ALSO...the parts are SUPER CHEAP....a boom is $3...Spindles are $3...the main shaft is $3...you get the idea...this is agreat heli to beat the snot out of...

Wow, i can appreciate those comments...i just won a ebay auction for a esmart 600 for $112 wit no motor..was that a good deal? my question is can i strip my jr voyager e's electronics and put on esmart 600?...
i have 3 hitec 225bb servos with adapter to fit on heli....1 gyro 240 with futa s3004 tail servo..75a esc and futaba t6exhp 72 mghz wit fm rx...will these electronics work on
a esmart 600?

esky...

$112 is a decent deal...but honestly you'd be better off paying 200$ shipped for the heli with the motor...the motor is about 80$ alone I believe...

and you'll want that motor...works great with that heli...

the electronics you have will work...except the servos...you'll want to get a set of full sized servos...If I were you i'd get a set of the spektrum ds821's and use those..you should be able to get all 3 for about 50$...and they will be great for this heli...

BTW...you'll need a 5s or 6s pack...you willnot want to use 3s 2200's on this machine...you'll need like a 5s 3700mah or 6s 3700' pack for this one...BUT...you can find those packs used all day long for 100$ or under...especially on fleabay...

here's a quick Vid also..

I don't know where you are getting your info Audio, but you might want to recheck your source. They are still the best supplier of E-Smart, and have been all along. Look here.

ok i trying to get my electronics but im conused....should i get an Align Bec 6A or will a Align 3A be fine....
i purchased a JRG500t Gyro with the 800t Servo so my Gyro problem is solved i hope...please let me know if that was a good choice...

Also i'm taking the 75 A, esc from my Jr Voyager so will that work?

Also You had mention that i can use a 5s 3700mAh or 6s 3700...Are u sure this battery will work....or should i really go for the 6s 4200mAh ( this is what Heli direct recommended)...if you are sure that the 3700mAh works then i will start looking for 2 of them so i can have an extra,,,,,but i need to be sure for that is a big investment...the 6s 4200mAh Helidirect has them for $169.00 each....so i really need your advice on my battery situation..

i already have the radio so that's solved...so it's just the above i want to make sure of, so please respond if u can......Also i'm looking for a 6s E-Station Bc6 i believe it is Charger...Does anyone know where i can get a used one?

Wow, I did not know we had a troll in here

As far as the batts, the stock gears allow a great headspeed at 5S, so don't pursue 6S, and your ESC, gyro, and a 3A bec will work fine.

Funny audio131 talks about his store not selling e-sky, but he list his occupation as a mechanic. Maybe he,s a heli mechanic. I learned along time ago that a act of stupidity on someone elses part does not constitute a emergency on mine..... So there for i will just block the fool!!!

If they make,em i,ll break,um
